Fitted a clutch today that wore out prematurely from poor installation. Previous workshop? had machined the locating dowels off the flywheel and the clutch bolts were a bit lose causing the clutch pressure plate to shudder on the flywheel which can be seen in wear marks on the flywheel. Plus nothing was lubed as in the pivot ball and the carrier. Now the customer also needs a new flywheel. "Miracle Z Motors" strikes again!
Machined off the dowels........??? Dafuq What imbecile machine shop would do that anyway???? Perhaps the dowel holes in the cover were a different size to what was in the flywheel but...sheesh. Crikey, some people E
Gotta love it when professionals can't even google 'how to install a clutch', how many k's did that last?
Its a wonder the pressure plate bolts were not sheared off on the first clutch dump with no dowels to hold it in place.
Check out how hot that friction plate has got! That Friction plate has blued, and hardened! that is amazing it has fractured. Those dampening springs must be super ductile now. Interesting workshops we have out there keeping John his toes.
