do cams change the sound of a VG at all?

    wondering if cams such as JWT wild cams would be noticeably any lumpier at all then stock to the ear? if yes, any vids? I'm not talking custom billet solids with huge lift... just wild hydraulic.

    Yes, they will be lumpier, but it depends on how you set them up. More overlap = lumpier idle.

    they will make it lumpier but not in the cool v8 way. jap v6's dont respond the same way

    I think most people running bigger cams also run higher idle speed, I know mine is around 1k and so is Simmo's.

    In my case the high idle smooths out the lumps a fair bit...

    yup mine sounds tons different, i run a higher idle as rob mentioned .. also depends on duration and if u run silly retard on the exhaust cams !!

    yes even with mild cams you get a nice little rumble compared to stock .

    like Rob260 I also have idle at 950 -1000 which smooths it out

    a louder exhaust will make it sound lumpier as well compared to a quieter one
