just finished replacing 2 rubber coolant hoses that come off the turbo , one on each turbo.both hoses where full off rusty crap ,but not enough to stop the flow.Car has never over-heated.Any easy way to check it`s getting coolant everywhere it`s supposed to_Only had the car couple of months.

    got pics?

would be curious to see what you mean.

over time, the hoses will get a mucky brown sort of coating inside which kind of bakes on and ultimately leads to your hoses becoming all brittle and when they dry out, the dust will fall out.
i'd recommend replacing all your lines if possible and just doing a coolant flush.

Would say it`s what you are talking about , had to squeeze hoses to get it out. These cars really are a joy to work on eh.

chances are the rest of ur cooling hoses have that shit in them too... plan a plenum pull for a water bypass job and replace any coolant lines etc along the way.... then a full rod and flush of ur radiator, and a powerflush of the block if you can. some new coolant and you should have a nice clean system...

p.s how do you know it hasnt overheated? have u got aftermarket gauge monitoring your temps? or are u just going off the stock gauge? if your only going by the stock gauge then also plan on purchasing a twd sold here on the forum, and also a good aftermarket water temp gauge ;). the stock gauge is completly useless to monitor temps as it is only a 3stage gauge. check the tech section there is heaps to read about the cooling system ;)

sounds like bit of fun , last car I worked on was LC torana.Might save a bit of money and do other work on the motor at the same time.
