    hey all
driving on the freeway the other night, all my lights died. High beams still work so limped home.

after searching here, checked the radio. there was a loose wire, cool, fixed.
replaced fuse, but lights still don't work.

    any suggestions?

Looking thought the FSM's, i feel like the problem is somewhere in the wire giving power to the switch (i.e. between fuse 3 and the lighting switch) since the headlight relays, dash lights and tail lights all run off this supply

could also be the sensor box somehow ****ed, and shortin out everything else but fues doesn't blow again, so i don't know.

    any help appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Matt

Check the fuses down in the drivers side footwell again.

I had a similar problem recently while rewiring my lights to a toggle switch. Spent hours troubleshooting the problem. Had checked the fuses, was the first thing I checked. Anyway after tracing and testing wires I decided to check the fuse again. Sure enough the 10A fuse had blown. Put another in and tested it, blew again immediately. WTF. Put a 15A in, everything OK. Put a 10A back in, everything OK. Haven't had a problem since. NFI what was wrong lol.

    It's the clearance illumini fuse

Located in the driver footwell near accelerator pedal fuse box

It will be a red 10amp fuse 3rd from the left TOP row.

If you replace it and it blows again you have a short.
Do not simply place a larger fuse or you will then likely burn out your globes or wiring or worse... Set fire to the car via the wiring.

Usual suspect location for shorts are wiring in behind head unit if someone's done custom splicing in behind there.

Edit: after just reading the whole post, your lights still not working. Are they blown? The globes i mean. Does the driver and passenger light relay click or a relay click when you toggle high to low beam?

Procky you replying to my post?
I put a 10A back in, and everything is fine since. Couldn't find anywhere that is shorting. Mine is pretty well stripped out now though, and a bit of a spaghetti mess of wires under the dash lol.

More general reply to OP however I can see how it applies to you now haha

I had this happen to me on way home from roll racing.

After nearly planting it into a wall at 150 in 3rd - I lost my lights. Turns out it jostled some connectors I had behind the head unit and one of them was in the perfect position to touch the corner of the metal head unit case- pinning itself and continually shorting

Yeah I figure I'm reluctantly going to have to go looking for it sooner or later... :(

Hate laying down up under the dash searching for wires

Good news is they'll rarely if ever be used :D

yeah, so fuse 3 is back in and not blown, pretty sure no others are either. lights still dont work.

but, the dash warning lights do work. theres a warning light bottom left that says 'lights'. thanks, nissan i can see that.

could it be the light tester box thingy (that triggers this light?)

    still looking for anwsers
