    Sup fellas,

Well I've been crazy busy in the shop lately....I have roughly 11 engine builds in the works right now....three of those for Aussie members ;)

    Anyways,

I wanted to share one of the recent builds I finished for a customer of mine. He originally had his engine built locally near him but after only 1100 miles it had so much blow by and crank case pressure the engine failed on him. So he sent it over to me to go through. He got a lot of goodies done. Here is his mod list.

Wiseco 88mm pistons w/ lateral gas ports (machined in house)
    Scat Rods
    Clevite main/rod bearings
    EPR Coated Rods
    EPR Coated Pistons
    EPR Coated Bearings
    Cometic HGs
    ARP Main/Headstuds
    Manley SS 1mm valves
    JWT HD Springs
    JWT R4+ Cams
    MSP Manifolds
    675 Turbos
    EPR CoatedTurbos
    EPR Coated Manifolds
    EPR Street Port
    EPR Coated Combustion Chambers
    EPR Coated Exhaust Ports
    NA Oil squirters
    Tigged center counter weight
    Fully balanced rotating assembly
    Polished Journals
    EPR Ported Oil Pump
    EPR Spec'd Block
    Pin fitted Rods/Pistons
    Fully Deburred block/heads
    Surfaced heads
    New oil galley plugs
    New Freeze Plugs
    New restrictors and oil jets

Now from start to finish on the build...

Prepped his rods and bearings for coating services....

machined lateral gas ports in pistons. This promotes a better ring seal and IMO an absolute must for turbo applications.

Rods coated with an oil shed coating. This helps in oil recovery and keeping parasitic drag off the rotating assembly. WIN/WIN setup

Checking housing bores on the rods. Very vital in ensuring that the rod bore is within spec and is 100% concentric.

.0004 big....I like what I see...means good oil clearance for the rod bearings.

Coated cylinder bores. This promotes ring seal while in break in.

One small thing that i love about seeing these engines being built is that you have the small block sitting there looking innocent and then you put the heads on and it is like "lookout bitches I mean business".

    I am a simple person...

PS I hope you used a Torque Boaring Plate :) lol

You stole my words tom! But i think theres enough gay going around now to promote not saying it again, plus we dont want to freak the bloke out.

But yes, this thread has just made my afternoon. And bang on 5pm.

Top work. Always enjoy reading your engine build threads.

Like the work. Would you mind putting up what the average cost of that type of work is for a Aussie to send over then you do that type of job then ship back. Just out of interest.

You better pull that head back off and put the water manifold on.

you can install the tstat housing with the heads on.

To the rest....thanks for all the compliments. I have more to show in the coming weeks on other various builds. Stay tuned.

:thumbup: Eric I spotted the same thing when scrolling through was thinkin "Umm i think he forgot something"

I didn't know it was possible to fit that pipe/thermostat housing in with heads and lower manifold on?
I had a hard enough time with just the right head on, those two bolts are a pain in the ass..
I think i read somewhere you can if you shave a piece of the head off

Mitch is right. You can fit the housing afterward. Cause I have done it when I had to fix a water leak.

Better to do it before though. :)

And it helps to put the DET sensor in there as well BEFORE inlet manifold

    just saying...

Thanks was just out of interest not actually wanting it done. Just interested what such a major rebuild was worth. Looks like you do it very well. The pictures show an amazing clean work place and every thing well set out.

    The housing

is a pita full stop, how you get of/on with the lower plenum in place escapes me.

:zlove: at last i found some one that puts the same amount of care and detail as i do in my own trade. :D happy to be #3 from down under..
