    Hi all,

Been reading about clutch bleeding, never done it before. Here's what I'm thinking I need to do, please correct me if I'm off the mark.

I have a 1 piece braided line from master to slave, auto to manual conversion so no extra bleed points. master and slave are bone dry....

    1. jack up front of car.
    2. attach braided line to master, install
    3. run braided line to slave, avoiding turbo
    4. place jar under braided line at slave, clear line from slave bleed
    5. fill master resevoir, wait a while for bubbles, refill
    6. wait till fluid comes out braided line in steady stream (refilling resevoir), attach to slave
    7. refill resevoir
    8. open slave bleed
    9. pump pedal down
    10. refill resevoir
    11. close bleed vavle
    12. release pedal
    13. refill resevoir
repeat 8 to 13 for a while untill no more bubbles come out
    11. leave resevoir cap off over night
    12. repeat next day

close? i dont ahve a vacuum pump and dont want to buy one. would consider getting a syringe for it but have read can be done easily wihtout.

    Cheers

Just make sure you pump the clutch pedal several times to ensure it is filling with fluid.
After several strokes of the pedal, hold it down and get someone to release the Slave/Cyl Bleed Nipple.
    Nip the bleed nipple closed.
Repeat this until there are no signs of air bubbles in the clear plastic tubing(making sure to watch that the M/Cyl Res is topped-up as required).

There shouldn't be any need to do anything the following day(except check that the M/Cyl is still full).

tassuperkart Its a lie I tell you!

Laugh it up if you like but if you can plop up a couple of bleed lines and a suitable container to catch the fluid without breathing it, and make it all seal well enough, you can supply a consistent and fairly consistent vacuum source, enough to bleed a clutch setup with just using your mouth!!!!

This is what i did recently when my slave cylinder failed a long way away from home.

Saves that head fark of finding a switched on pedal pusher to kneel in the dirt and sucking air back into the slave when the sequence is gotten wrong!

Ghetto but works well. I dunno about brakes tho, I reckon youd end up with a mouth that looked puckered like a cats bum permanently by the time you were done!!!!!!:D
