I am looking for a company in Perth that is able to get a small amount of rust removed from my ZX, the rust is located around the rear window. Any help at all would be appreciated.
I could do it for a small fee ,but wont be back in Perth until mid August. Have you got any pictures of the damage?
Panel beaters hate rust and will charge for it. I gave a price to cut the rust out a put new metal in, im not a glass or paint man so couldn't give a price on that. The rust has gone underneath the glass so it will have to be be removed for repair , anything less will be temporary . by the look of it there may even be a previous repair thats failed. option 1 Remove glass Repair Rust Paint Refit glass option 2 buy another hatch give it to shop for painting and fitted
yeah i know there not charity's , they will probably knock it in with a hammer, bog and paint it so it lasts a couple of years.
i have 2 2 + 2 hatches at home but have not decided what i will do yet. one is 100% rust free with no dents and a mint condition stock spoiler. The other is a brazilian with no rust around the windows but a few small dents from where the hatch was removed and 1 dent where i knelt on it trying to get shit out of storage raking.
Im not really experienced in this type of thing, I dont want to screw it up. Its turned out to be more money/effort than I thought it was going to be. Thinking about making sure it doesnt get any worse and then doing the repairs at a later date.
If you decide to sell, what would be your best price for the first hatch you mention, mint with no rust or dents?
I will be selling 1 but dont know which one yet. i dont know if i will repair mine or spray the new one. With glass removal ,prep and spraying i am looking betwen $500-$700 for the good one ,then will need to re tint window or to pdr mine, buy ztoy spoiler ,fit and spray will be $450 as long as i dont need to respray the whole hatch,if so then add another$300. So still deciding. as for price i have seen 1 on ebay in pristine condition for $600 and a good condition 1 with lifting tint and some damage on the spoiler for $250.
I priced a hatch awhile back from a wreckers in Bayswater, sport auto i think it was called. they had around 5 hatches and a couple were spoilerless models. He wanted $700 outright or $450 exchange as long as the window was not smashed .
ok, you can make me reasonable offer on a dead straight,rust free hatch. It has been brazilianed. all you have to do is fill the 5 mounting holes and paint.
