i'll have to change my clutch soon. i saw a lot of heavy duty clutch for sale on the forum and on ebay ... i just wonder what is the diference between a normal and a heavy duty clutch ??? thanks
I know crap all, but one thing I'm pretty certain is that the Z has to have a heavy duty clutch rather then a normal one someone can correct me if i'm wrong though.
Heavy Duty normally refers to stronger clamping pressure, something that is needed if you have a TT as opposed to an NA.
A heavy duty clutch is usually around 30% more clamp load. Its better than a stock clutch, if you have more than stock power. This is a good upgrade for midly modded street zeds 220-250rwk. http://www.ttzed.com/products/products_detail.cfm?CFID=14441856&CFTOKEN=21831173&cat=25&grouping=1&grouptitle=Performance%20Parts&PartID=154&page=1&title=Clutch%20Kits&do=detail
I got the heavy duty clutch thats also used or was used in the UAS slot car iv heard, and it is pretty good and handles 260rwkw + . The previous one on my car was a stock clutch must have lasted 15 years? This one is a bit hard but once you get used to it, its awesome and grabs really well.
Give Kevin a call at Specialised Brake and Clutch in St Marys a call he will hook you up with what you need. Make sure you get the nismo roller needle bearing and upgraded pivot ball also chaneg out to a braided clutch line. Always an idea to change the flywheel too. I just got my new hybrid race setup and cost all up just under two grand but its for a purpose and local cutches will be fine for street use
