I was driving without any air on and hit the demister and it wouldn't turn off, plus the auto button wouldn't work either so had all this air-conditioned air pumping onto the windscreen. Had to unplug the battery to get the demister to turn off but when I hit it again to check if it had resolved itself (was hopeful here) it would not turn off again. Auto functionality doesn't work so I can't have air going except to the windscreen (which won't turn off), the digital display works, temp settings can be adjusted (although unsure if this affects the demister temp cause it didn't seem to, thus am unsure if it does in fact work besides changing the setting displayed), fan speed also works, what could be the issue.

I have and plan to install a s2 digital pod but it appears as though I would need to remove the dash in order to remove the control unit near the clutch pedal, so would appreciate getting the current system fixed for the short term rather than being forced to do this now.

You don't need to pull the dash to get to the computer, just a few trim panels.

Don't suppose it's just faulty buttons?

What does an S2 Pod and S2 Computer normally cost ?

I have looked under there and the clutch seems to obstruct your ability to unscrew the screws holding it in. I don't know how you would do it without getting this out of the way first.

Well, it could be but seems a bit strange that this would happen all of a sudden. Has worked in the past without issues.

Well I wouldn't know exactly, got them off of a slicktop a guy was parting, have not been tested but am assuming it works. I got a few bits and bobs which included the pod and computer for about $50 from memory. If you are after one keep an eye on the for sale thread or put a wanted ad in the wanted section of the forums.

So just pulling it and putting in the S2 equipment would be the easiest fix? I know these things are notoriously difficult to diagnose.

As far as I understand it there is no modifications required just swap out the pod control unit and the Climate Amplifier/computer module.
