ZXCY, I am not about to enter into a debate on the costing of a limited run of these braces. I have not increased the cost of these since the original batch(even though the overall materials & labour costs have risen), so I fail to see how you have room to find fault. Yes, there are 155 of them in use so far, AND if that 155 had been manufactured in one batch, the price could have been lower per unit. Do you really think I should have laid out $18000 of my own money, on the off-chance that someone might buy a few of these? As I have stated previously, the original prototype which was built for my own personal use(and which could have been a complete failure), cost me $190(I subsequently donated it to another member, after the first GB). These braces are made in Sydney and the work is all carried out by three separate workshops(Laser cutting, Welding and Metal Polishing) fittings come from a local Nut & Bolt supplier and Packaging & Shipping is by my wife, and I. How this is in any way associated with the present currency rate, is a mystery to me. The CHILI BRACE is not sold anywhere else(other than at UAS, and they are sourced from me). Sandeep has answered your CZP allegation accurately. No-one is holding a gun at your head, if you have misgivings, don't order one. Im not just talking about this because i have nothing better to do. Its just that i get so jealous that our fellow zedders in the US have it so much easier with parts. I good quality brace over there for $35 bucks and over here for $120. And its just with this brace, other things too and im starting to realise that everytime i want to upgrade i should be looking at the US market first. Shame local stuff costs too much.
done your research have you ???,if you had,you would have asked coz if the ones he sells are for rhd cars,and if you had,he would have told you they are for lhd cars only :whatever: :whatever: so if you are not happy with chilli peppers price,go elsewhere anyway porno mags and fireworks are cheaper in the ACT,so the money you have saved evens it out in the end doesnt it
I think that i can get them made cheaper with my contacts.. it is possible... but i can't be fk setting it up and I am more then happy to support a fellow zedder like i have gonzo, it is his design after all. So he gets my support....
Hey, I buy parts from the US also, but if I want RHD specific parts, I'm NOT going to find them there. If local suppliers were looking at a potential customer list of tens of thousands for each item, they could also reduce manufacturing costs, but the market here is very small. If you have a problem with this issue, I suggest you post it in the appropriate forum(it might also help if you read the guidelines regarding For Sale listings, as these are not intended as an arena for disgruntled, unlikely customers, to air their grievances).

We all know this tested and proven product, we all know the price (as they have been getting made now over several years) And most importanly we know that they are getting PRIVATELY made through the expense and efforts of a forum member in his spare time. (and i know for a fact there is bugger all profit he makes from these) These are not mass produced by a company in batches of a thousand at a time, so the comments you have previously made are not valid in this thread. If you have some kind of grudge about this then post it in the appropriate section ie: Zed Related-Non Technical. You are new to the forum so I can understand your posting your thoughts in this thread, but now you know the score please start obeying the forum guidelines and leave this thread alone with irrelevant posts. If I can get ... a good quality localy manufactured and designed product that is competitevively priced with good service ... why wouldnt you buy it. Really I only want a picture of a chilli under my bonnet :cool2: I read somewhere that its good for 10 kw :drool:
Consider me EOI'd After seeing your brace on Baz's car recently I have been wanting one! Hurray for performance mods that only require 2 bolts and the loss of 0 skin! Thanks for your efforts Chili!
UPDATE 8/05/08 Thanks for the kind words and support, folks. It is a frustrating fact of life that there are always "Knockers" on the horizon. Constructive criticism is a valid process that should be taken on board, and answered, but when a product has not had one single negative feedback from the purchasers/users, it does become irritating to say the least. I don't seek protection from criticism(nor should such protection ever occur), it is more than enough to know that everyone that has a CHILI Brace, is pleased with the improvement it makes to the driving experience of their Z32. Those members who know me, know that I am "outspoken and upfront"(that doesn't always work well, but that's me), so to continue in that vein.... The three previous GB's for this item were financed by the incoming payments from the purchasers, with me soaking up the balance for unsold units(until they eventually sell). Because of the good response to this EOI so far, I think we can proceed with this GB, if those who have ordered are willing to pay upfront, in full(there will obviously be some left-over items, but I'm hopeful that they will go eventually), so please give me your thoughts on this.
