Ok here are photos of a failed single piece carbon fibre propshaft. The alloy adapter flange was a loose fit within the carbon tube, there was / is no form of locking key and it would appear that a type of resin glue was all that was used to connect the two parts???? The final photo shows the steel version we fabricated to replace the carbon fibre one, with a car with such a high power output steel was the only way forward we felt happy with, however the failure had occured whilst the engine was been run in and not running full potential which just adds weight to the metal propshaft been the best and at 150.00 GBP = 259.658 AUD cheaper too. Bummer of a failure. Its a timely reminder here that ANY car that is driven in a...errr spirited manner whether on the street (of COURSE you never do!!) or on the track should, as a matter of course, have a sturdy tailshaft hoop installed. It is a CAMS requirement on any race car anyway and will prevent in pretty much most cases you being nutted by a flailing tailshaft or the car pogo-sticking itself into the scenery. Pogo-sticking DOES happen and I have some very dead friends to prove it so please do not argue that point. The old EH panelvan learned to fly............ that sucked. Moving on! I personally view CF tailshafts as technology for technologies sake. Just me tho. Altho i do like the feature of them shattering to bits rather than peeling open and holding together in some way........ L8r E

Last e-mail from James at ACPT was before Christmas. Either their not back from their break or their stuffing me around. I hope its the former! I'll let everyone know the outcome once its been resolved.
I sent another 'follow-up' e-mail last week and I haven't received a reply yet. Maybe their still on holidays
or maybe a case of head in sand. hope not dude, had a business do that to me once not fussed since it's a cheap product but when it's a $1k driveshaft, i'd be chasing my money back.
I finally got a reply from James @ ACPT. They have decided to send me a new one, free of charge. As I bought the shaft through Street to Strip, ACPT need to know the order number (for record purposes). Anyone have STS's contact details?
YIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!! DONT DO THAT!!! THIS THREAD WILL GET LOCKED!!! OMG OMG OMG OMG YOUR A REBEL!!!!
