Hi all, i'm new to zed but i've searched in the forum for the past hour.
Was told that multiple turbo leak are present in my 91 zed, i assume they are talking about boost leak instead of fluid leakage.
My boost gauge is around -20 idle (normal i guess), but can't remember on top of my head how far to the positive side has it ever been.

Is it true that boost leakage only occurs at the pippings and the turbos but not at the main engine? Apart from the turbos and ICs, tightening the clamps or replacing worn pipes would fix the problem?

Another main concern is would it be safe to continue to drive the zed with boost leak? A friend of mine with a R33 GTS carries a fire extinguisher in his car due to the high risk of turbo (backfiring maybe?).

Thanks for your input in advance guys. I'm trying to learn as much as possible about zeds.

A boost leak if not causing rough running will do two main things.
Firstly it will lower your potential boost level (obviously)
Secondly will richen up your mixture, due to some of the the measured amount of air no longer being present in the system. The fuel is injected for the measured amount of air, there's now too much fuel in the mix, presto rich mixture.
The leak can occur at any point between the turbo outlet and injectors (basically any potentially pressurised part of the intake).
So yes, piping, clamps, and even hoses at the plenum, although those would be easy to find, as they would be sucking at idle.

As the ONLY things coming from your turbo's are,

A: Pressurized air(to the throttle bodies),

B: Exhaust gases(to the exhaust pipes),

I don't see the reasoning for carrying a Fire Extinguisher for that specific purpose(carrying an extinguisher for general safety is an entirely different and sensible choice, IMHO).
