FOR SALE $4500 and it's yours - Upper Coomera, Gold Coast
    An actual Rare 300zx

This car has the usual 300ZX features: 2+2, T-Top roof, air conditioned with full climate control, Cruise control.
Import and Servicing (all receipts since 1999) -
It has been serviced every 5000 km with synthetic oil and filters every time. It had 42,000 km on the clock when It was imported it. Of course, there's no guarantee that it's genuine with imports so the 100,000 service was done early. It now has 208,000 and has had the second 100,000 km service done not too long ago.
    Transmission -
Transmission has an external cooler to ensure it can't overheat it done once a long time ago and that resulted in a full rebuild. Gary (BlueZ) took that opportunity to increase the stock line pressures.
    Navan accessories-
Navan accessories are factory options in Japan. The Navan shift knob is rare and highly sought after. Combine that with an even rarer Navan rear wing (one of only a couple in Australia), and one of the best looking wings ever, in my opinion.
    Exhaust -
There needs to be a balance between performance and noise. The car has a nice deep note and a performance boost but minimum drone. This 300ZX has a dual 2 inch exhaust with high flow cats.
The dump pipes have been replaced with 2.5 inch stainless steel dumps
New O2 sensors were installed at the same time
    Intake -
One of the first mods was to remove the air box and install a K and N pod cleaner
There's always been a lot of discussion about the need for screens on the air flow meter. Gary removed the screens. A lot of people still believe that this is one of the simplest ways to make a surprising difference in performance.
    Brakes and suspension -
The suspension has been tightened significantly with the addition of Tien coil-overs Actually, this was done to lower the ride a little for the looks. It also made a big difference to the handling.
The ride was tightened up further with a full underbody rubber kit
A front strut brace finishes handling improvements.
Slotted rotors improve the braking performance and a master brake cylinder brace was also added
    Body -
The paintwork is in surprisingly good condition for a car of this age. It was obvious that it hadn't seen a lot of sun in Japan and this carried on here as well. It has always been garaged.
The centre panel has been replaced with a vented version and skirts compliment the look
Chrome 8.5 inch wheels with 245x30x18 Federal 595's contrast the midnight blue perfectly.
    Side windows are tinted.
The headlight bulbs are replaced with xenon bulbs and the driving lights are upgraded
    Side Skirts were added
    Interior -
Sony MP3 head unit and speakers.
The dome light has been replaced with an LED lamp.
Of special note is that the dash has no cracks, which is uncommon for a 300ZX.
Rockford Fosgate 6.5'' component speakers in the front and rear.
Clear side indicators have been added.
Other mods. An underdrive crank pully has been fitted to reduce drag by the accesories and an over-drive water pump pulley fitted to maintain water flow at low revs
The hoses under the plenum have been removed and by-passed
The power windows operate when the ignition is not on
The overspeed alarm has been disconnected - this was the first thing Gary did after driving for 4 hours with bing-bing-bing in his ear
The cruise control has been modified to allow it to be set at speeds above 100 kph
The ignition module (PTU) has been relocated from the front of the engine
    The AIV has been deleted
The drive shaft centre bearing is notorious for failing. It did. The problem has been solved with a 1 piece drive shaft.
    Heater Core has been replaced
The boost is at around 16psi after adding some boost jets, along with a Hi-Tech replacement ECU.
    Car also has
Original Blue T-Tops bags. PPP ignition disable system
    Original Rare Blue Interior
Has adjustable Tension Rods and Rear Upper Control Arms
Both Rear Lower Control arms we're replaced recently, and had an alignment done last weekend.
Have around $24,000+ worth of receipts showing maintenance, receipts for parts, just everything ever spent on the car

    OK the bad -
Perfect for a manual transmission swap, the Auto box is not shifting out of gear 1. I don't know, could be a easy fix, could even be the ACU, solenoid or something. I threw it into Automatic Transmission mode and it's showed no errors, TPS was at 0.44 V which is normal. At worst all you could do is throw in a second hand auto gearbox. If you can do a gearbox conversion or figure out whats wrong, this is a bloody good deal.........I flew all the way down to Melbourne to drive this back up. Currently registered, will obviously need to be towed, will be selling unreg and no roadworthy.

You could part it out and get a fair bit......:(

Everyone is telling me not to sell it, my Dad, all the zed owners i've met along the way are all offering to help me fix it. :(
I'm running out of money and it's the best car i've ever had.

Probably wouldn't be a fun drive considering he said the gearbox is stuffed and won't shift out of first lol.

LOL oops missed that bit, besides cheap enough to be able to buy a good 2nd hand box swap over and then drive back. If anything it's more likely a solenoid gone .

Would make a popular part out with that rare blue interior. The fact it doesn't actually drive shouldn't hold it back as so many for sale these days are the same, at least you're honest enough to mention it before someone turns up to take a look.

Too good to part out, it just needs an Auto Transmission specialist.
These autos are the same as the Nissan Patrol, (right?) so maybe looking for someone familiar with Patrol Autos would be easier in his area?

I believe he may decide to keep it and get the car fixed.
Will just have to carry on with the Red Zed.
Only very small jobs to complete for RWC & Rego.
Hope to be on the road end of month.

    Admin, please delete this post.
I have been convinced to keep my car, and fellow Z owners help me fix the car yesterday at the techday

Well done, to all the tech day members, not only has another Zed been saved, a Zed owner has been saved too.
I only wish I could have been there to see it happen.
