hello, can anyone give me advice on block prep for a reasonably high HP motor, i know the basics, hone, bore, deck, Etc... The info im really digging for is the niddy gritty stuff like removing the excess cast left in the water jacket, and so on, So far the plan is, Remove excess cast from water jacker, already done Acid dip, to clean the block, cryotreat, if not over priced, cylinder bore, preferably with a torque plate, but cant find anyone with one yet , hone, and deck. there is no doubt more please post it up, Joe
Depends how deep the old wallet is basically man. You want your block to be true, so all cylinders in line with no taper, same goes for the mains. You might want to do a crack / leak test to be sure.
