Ok, i have come to a crossroad...

the decisions i have to make are based on the following info

earlier this year the z thought it was amphibious (spelling?)

so flushed it out filled with oil etc and it ran (yay)

have been doing the basic work to keep it running, reg oil changes, new radiator, 02 sensors etc etc.

the paint work is ok (bonnet/roofish thingy redone) pass side has peel..

interior is falling apart( easy fix)

starter or flex plate needs to be done (trouble starting) autobox was fully rebuilt 1.5 years ago (had a reciept somewhere)

everything seems to work fine, the car just looks a bit sad. but trying to save for a house and everything else and my state titles coming i really dont have time or money i want to spend to do what needs to be done to make it pretty.

So i either need to sell the car as a whole (reg/unreg not sure)
part it out and sell to whoever wants what
    keep it and fix it

2 of those options leave me getting a new car..
    1 leaves me fixing it.

    What a predicament :S.

Can anyone shed some light and help me find my way?

    you answered your own question
If you dont have money, you cant fix it,if you dont have time, you cant part it out
Both of these options require the things you dont have

sell it as is and be done with it ;)

Well I have money, just not really wanting to spend it if i dont really have to.
And pulling bits off to sell is a bit different to pulling a bit off to replace.

In the long run it will be more economical to flog it or part it out and get another Z that is in good nick for around the $14K mark.

    Get rid of it.....

Buying a house is the largest (and probably most important) purchase you'll ever make, so get stuck into saving/purchasing/paying off the thing as much as you can while you're still young. It will reap huge dividends later on when you don't have to pay mortgage or rent anymore.

Zeds are HUGE money pits, and will gladly swallow as much cash as you let them. Pouring money into a zed is like pissing your cash up against a brick wall, you'll never see it again.

The bottom line is..... a house will serve a useful purpose for the rest of your life, whereas the zed is just another toy

I feel your pain my friend. My partner and I both own zeds, both need some love. And are trickling into this house building/buying jazz...

Whats the casino saying - the house will always win.

Is tight, very tight, but we all manage to work it out in the end....all on black.
