Any experience with an ER34 Skyline?

Also known as an R34 GT-T. It looks to have a 2.5l turbo engine (single or twin turbo?) but without the 4WD of the R34 GTR. 5 speed box. For all intents looks like a GTR and perhaps the engine is almost as strong.

Anyone had one of these and know a bit about them?
    Thanks

They use the newer version of the RB25 it's called the RB25DET NEO. It's supposed to be a good engine. Single Turbo setup and yes you lose the GTR's ATTESSA 4WD system but that should save a bit of weight too.
A few styling changes as well to the overall body ie. front and rear bar as well as fenders (the GTR has pumped guards). And you lose some of the tricky things that the GTR has like the display screen etc.
I don't know that I'd buy one because for the money I'd be more tempted to get a later model TT 300zx or save up some more money and get the real deal R34 GTR instead. But that's just me.

    I'd never own a Skyline unless its a 33 or 34 GTR

lol gt-t is nuthing special, single turbo same old rb25 just has the NEO head as mentioned above, pricing is rather decent tho.

but its not a special model at all, its just the norm r34. they just changed some letters hey, the GT-X is like the bottom of the range lol.

there is more differences in looks for the GTR too, the wheels r closer to the front of the car on the GTR (its true look it up) and the gtr's got sexy brembo's.

so pretty much a gtt will probably be line for line with a r33, r34 prollly weighs more, looks nice tho :D

Yes the R34 GT-T is just the new R33 GTS-T. Nothing too special about them, blingy bits in the cabin and their not too old. Stick with the Z :zlove:

Thanks guys. The ER34 I was looking out was a coupe with Brembo brakes, carbon fibre bonnet. I think it would be about half the price of a R34 GTR. Or less. Some of the Japanese R32s on Ebay look very clean. Think I would lean to a R33 or R34. But the R34 GTRs are fairly serious money.

r32 looks great like the r34....

r32 though isnt the best buy for money as compared to the r33 as it really has some improvments all round......i heard the r34 is slightly better but then again the price tag is like alot more......ur better off getting a r33 GTR and spending the extra money on it then getting a r34 gtr........or getting a r34 gtt and doing that up, benifits of single turbo which im not 100% what it is...

but still i would go the r34...hehe......irrelivent...yes...but i just had to say it...

the r34 gtt is still 10-12k less than an r33 gtr, so he wouldn't have change to spend on it, more the other way around. I've been in an r34 gtt and they have a bit of go, handle well.. easily comparable to a standard tt 300zx, just newer and more expensive.. it's all about personal taste my friend, go take one for a drive, sit in it, look around.. you might be impressed

I reckon R34's GT-T's are slow as hell esp with stock turbo, i raced one ripped it apart. I like the R32's aswell but they are starting look dated, also for example 90 of 100 forsale on the net needs engine rebuild's diff rebuilds lots of tlc etc.

I worked on one today. But this one had had some money spent on it. RB26TT fitted to it. Upgraded injectors, fuel rail, PowerFc, Brembo brakes. He grabbed heaps of stuff of GTR. Only got to take it for a drive around robina shopping town. It got on boost pretty damn hard. (not that i go out boosting up customers cars).

Im not the biggest fan of skylines, but this one was quite impressive. It is now even more impressive with at DVD player Ipod Adaptor and a dynamics processor.

i used to have one of these in NZ

R34 GTT coupe... very nice car, aside from the looks i preferred it to the Z (its got the go and the handling, pity bout the styling). Comfortable for front seat passengers, nice seats, pretty good all round car, but as bit cramped in the back seats.

2.5 Single Turbo (Neo engine) with either 5 spd manual or 4 speed tiptronic auto, 206kw, rear wheel drive, 0-100 in about 6 seconds stock

upgrades wise, can't go far before you need a new turbo due to ceramic wheels, but engine is pretty good, more economical and responsive than the earlier skyline engines (rb26dett excepted)

r34gtt are around the 20-26 mark for decent manual ones......r33 gtr around the 25-30 mark.... but yeh theres not much you can do with a few gran to make it better than a gtr.

As said before the R34 GT-T is just an upgrade of the R33 GTS-T (which I happen to own!) Stock R33 GTS-T makes 14.5sec 1/4 mile with approx 140rwkw with the car weighing approx 1400kgs. Maxing out the stock turbo with a FMIC, Pod, T-back Exhaust, AFC, boost controller running 12-13PSI they are running approx 200rwkw easy. Any less and there is something wrong! Turbo usually dies at 15PSI. Can't get any higher then 220rwkw unless upgrading the turbo. (if someone has done it I want to hear about it please!) I believe they are extremely similar in power so most of the above should apply to the R34 GT-T! Out of all the Nissan's I've driven, I don't think I can compare one against another, they've all got their own touch, the skyline just happened to be the fastest one I could get for a good price that wasn't too old!

    Hope this helps?

A 95 TT Slicktop isnt too old? And it will curtainly beat any GTS-T stock and modded.

Has the guy just bought that car from Brisbane??

If its the same car - which it looks like - the original owner spent 80K on it !!! putting in the RB26 and all the other gear. Awesome car!
