AMS INC. Introduces a product demanded for years by enthusiasts for the venerable 300ZX (Z32). Through extensive R&D and investment AMS INC. has developed an OEM fit clear 'Polycarbonate' injection moulded upgrade to the OEM solid black non-clear plastic. Available in 100% Clear Plastic and limited edition 'Smoked' Features: -CAD Designed for exacting fitment -Injection Moulded like OEM - all OEM fastener use is retained -High Quality Polycarbonate construction ensures : durability, scratch resistant, heat resistant and fade resistant properties -Clear and Smoked plastic allows for easy inspection and monitoring of critical 'Timing Belt' components! No more guessing if the belt is wearing or leaks are present in cam seals etc. -Replace worn and scratched 20 yr old OEM covers -Allows for show goers to display aftermarket Cam gears and accessories without the risk of exposing the critical Timing Belt components as done in the past (both dangerous and potentially catastrophic for the engine) Some images of Pre-Production Units and the development process: SMOKED TIMING COVERS: CLEAR TIMING COVERS This product along with other new releases from AMS INC. will be displayed at ZDAYZ 2012. Awesome to see these being released officially! Will post install pics when these arrive shortly Put a set of the smoked ones aside for me please - time for an update on the blue car.
finally there is a set for the Z32. just put my engine in Should supply sets with cam gear cutouts for adjustments.
Very good, and good to be able to see if oi leaks. GTR's have had these for years, although they don't stay perfectly clear or clean for long.
Yep, that's what I instantly thought. I see a practical application but mostly is it just novelty? Hard to get off and clean. It is a nice product all the same. Well done.
I put a set on that Evo 5 I did, only done ~2000k's and they are already getting grubby. How much are these ones going to cost?
Someone has to copy these so I can buy a set without the logo all over it. Would be pretty funny to see how AMS handles somebody else copying their product then undercutting them too.
'Follow up' product..... This product will be followed up by another innovative product called :- The Inside Timing Belt Cover Cleaning Tool  :br:
Ha too funny. I must be the only one that thinks clear covers look tacky? Exposed looks good tough, factory covers look tidy... just don't like clear!
same I think - but is there any risk of stuff getting in the teeth? Either way I want to be able to see my cam gears
Only way is for another vendor to invest 10's of thousands on injection molds which is highly unlikely. This is one of the reasons none of the other vendors have ventured this path due to cost inhibitions. Regards, Vuk@AMS
I've got a pre production set in for a customer Pure coolness, the car is more or less a show car/toy so wont be seeing any daily commutes etc. Sneak peek: The lower belt cover is modified on this engine to allow it to be removed without pulling the top RHS one off so there is a gap where the to meet that is NOT the fault of the clear covers.
What you doing checking forums at this time of the day? I'm sending one in a couple of minutes but parcel on its way as of this morning
