aiv question

    hey guys i was just reading the tech section on aiv and 1 guy just removed it all together wat would the point in that be ...? i'm just learning so i thought i'd ask

    Have a search for aiv's on the net their are some very good technical explanations of it purpose.

    Most remove as its not used in newer cars and it reduces the weight of the vehicle plus if you get an aftermarket exhaust fitted its alot of extra work to fit additional pipes to connect the aiv's to.

    does it make the car run different with it out?

    Redundant....

    the aiv system is an anti-pollution device fitted to early zeds that funnels secondary air into the exhaust to reduce CO2 emissions. Most people eliminate it to simplify under the bonnet.
