    Hi all,

I have removed the AIV system but have decided to leave the airboxes in place.

Do theses boxes have to be blocked off if they are left insitu? Also, what?s connected behind these air boxes?

Finally, I have read a couple of posts saying something along the line of needing to upgrade to a 93+ ECU after AIV delete. What are they on about and must it be done even if the car will be getting nistuned?

    Thanks

    Sam

do not need to upgrade ecu, 110% certain of that..........

really may as well pull the whole lot out of the wheel well, its not a tough job at all alot of people use it as a "practice run" before they do harder modifications as its simple enough, yet gets you using your tools etc etc....

and if you pull the airboxes and brackets and all the associated crud in there, theres a few kilos of weight to be removed.....wont make any real difference that youd ever notice, but its a nice little bonus anyway hehe:zlove:

All the AIV's do is heat your cats up faster, so yeah wont make much difference.

I took mine out 2 weeks ago, airbox's to. While there is no harm whatsoever leaving them in (dont have to block them) might as well take em out while your at it, think there was 3 bolts holding the box's in. Then just maneuvering em around the wiring and crap.

The amount of space they take up is unreal, could hide half the engine bay crap in the leftover space.
