    Hey all,

Recently bought a few things for a service and wanted to get advice if their the go?

I normally would hav gone for Genuine Nissan and possibly different oil but my mate took me down and i thought id just get the stuff while i was there.

I ended up getting (aw yeh, its for my 300TT)
    -MOTUL 'Power' 4100 15W50
    -RYCO oil filter
    -RYCO fuel filter
    -K&N oil filter cleaning kit

Now i realise the cleaning kit is obviously prety straight forward but im wondering are the filters and oil the rite way to go? Im sure they are fine and at the end of the day its better than leaving it un-serviced but thought id get opinions.

Aw and i paid $120AUD all up for the above stuff...i could hav gotten it cheaper but my mate who works at Repco wasnt there and i ended up dealing with a B*tch (who owned an ugly S14 by the way)

$120 doesn't sound to unreasonable. Motul is recommened by quite a few guys on the forum and Ryco will be fine. And I'm assuming you mean a K&N air filter cleaning kit? Just be careful not to use too much oil as if you do, it could end up messing with your air flow sensor thing (heard the oil can coat them).

Motul is a great oil. If I remember correctly, the 4100 is a semi-synthetic oil which will be fine. Debate will always rage over synthetic and semi-synthetic oils and I do believe that synthetic oils are better... but just do your oil changes every 5000kms and it will be perfectly fine....

    Cheers

Thx fellas, i was hesitant to use a semi-syn but u gotta remember plenty of ppl think "il giv my car the best" and use sum ridiculous syn oil only to find that theyve formed new leaks.

The weight i wasnt 100% sure with but i remember hearing 15W50 was the go with Z's so i thort itd b the go. My other choice woulda been 10W40 but we'll c...maybe some more insight>????

And regarding the air filter kit, yep spot on, K&N recharge kit and true bout oil...if over done it tends to coat filament and run weird.

One more thing i wanted to mention...

U will see alot of "100% synthetic oils"...ok none are actually "Fully Synthetic" they will all hav some form of raw material.
The only true FULL SYNTHETIC is "100% ESTER" ... u will see this in the 300V CHRONO MOTUL oil range which goes for $90 for 4L
