I am thinking about buying a rebuild kit from Coz.
I know you have to specify the bearing sizes when you buy the kit but the engine is still complete and in the car so obviously I cant assess the crank bearings.

I am thinking of purchasing a few items now whilst the dollar is strong so i can build late next year.

    Thoughts?

    thanks.

Bearings aren't terribly expensive. Why not buy your gaskets etc now and buy the bearings locally when you know your sizes?

Or order some ACL's, only really come in one size ;)

Only one size??? standard rod big ends work ok with ACL bearings, also what advantages are there of ACL over a new set of OEM?

The ACL's have 'Race' in their name :p Haha!

The OEM bearings have lots of different sizes at very small increments. ACL's have 'normal' and 'larger clearance'.

    cant assess the crank bearings.

Wait untill you have the engine stripped down, if you can, then get nissan bearings.

OEM bearings are the better bet i believe. Were'nt some people having issues with incorrect offsets on the oil feed on some of the after market bearings.

They're reletively inexpensive, and one of those things you buy once you know your clearances.

i would go with a set of clevite bearings. any performance brand of bearing is going to be better then the oem.
