So why did you spent money on the vert, when it didn't need it? That would have been close to 8k :bash:

You're lucky I live on the other side of the country! haha

because i planned on keeping it for a very long time. the banks didnt have a ****ing gay ass rule saying you have to pay an extra 8300 ontop of your loan if you dont have a garentor....that rule has just recently come out apparently.

and almost 2.5k of about 8k was spent on the plenum pull and 100k service....necessary things.

the recaros i bought because they are rarer than chickens teeth and the wheels because i have always loved them.

Is this the case with all banks? I'm sure there would be a way you could keep the vert, and scrap together 8k. But if you are not that distressed to see it go, all the best. I will stop hijacking your thread now :)

i am distressed to see it go, but then again, i wont have to worry about getting stone chips, someone scratching the paint, a bird crapping on it....heaps of little things i usually fret about when driving the car lol

maybe in 5-10 years ill get back into the zx game, but have been thinking about Americana muscle lately, like an old 69 mustang....mmmm but that wouldnt be for a while and would be a project on the side....wanna pay off a certain percentage of the house before really thinking about that kind of stuff

and im not sure if it is with all banks...but it is the case with the commonwealth bank

erik .... somewhat away from topic ... but having invested, big time, in the blue zed it is really throwing away good money which you just will not recoup ...

..i presume that you have checked out other banks for a loan ... there is a lot of competition out there and THAT bank is NOTORIOUS ...!!!

    a couple of points

    A couple of points...

    1. There is a point when you have spent too much money on a car that it is pointless selling it because you will get nowhere near the return on your investment. Hence you would be better off putting her in storage for a few years, until you can afford her again. And occasionally enjoy what you spent.
    2. It would appear that you are a guy that likes to modify his car, hence any car you get you will probably do the same and thus flush good money after bad on her. Given that you have already flushed money away on this car, keep her and you won't have to flush away money on a new car in the future.
    3. You could really suffer from a case of "I should not have sold my zed" in the near to distant future.
    4. When you start hearing every stone chip as money, then it is time to give up the entire car scene and not just your zed. While a car can be like a work of art, a car is a "living breathing creature" that is meant to be driven. A stone chip, scratch, and bird crap are moments in your car's life; plus you can always clean, polish, and repaint this.

Personally i would not be selling her, maybe putting her away in storage for another day.

How about getting a little loan, say $5k, and buy the bare necessities. Pay off that, then get another loan and buy a few more things. You don't need to have everything at once. :)

not really, when i was driving less valuable cars i couldnt care less. the next car will probs be an 02 corrolla, and im not going to care if i chip paint etc....its only when it come to this car do i actually start to fret and care about what happens to it

i agree completely with steven ..... this is a zed in absolutely mint condition, incredibly low, genuine mileage and totally "babied" by chris during his ownership ... and looks positivly stunning ....

.. if someone does pick it up, they will score a first class zed classic ....

.. you will NEVER be able to get your hands on a zed, such as this, in the future ....

there just has to be other major financial lenders out there who are not pulling the C/wealth bank stunt .... $8,300 ..!!! quite frankly, i would be telling them to get stuffed .. pounds to peanuts they are covered by a current Government guarantee, anyway ...!!!

I enjoy driving older 'non' perfect cars better for that reason.

Many years ago I bought a patrol new. Second week we went bush and got onto this sandy downhill track where the bushes started closing in. I will never forget the screeching from the branches as they scratched the paint. Horrible feeling.

My convertible is by no means perfect and another little scratch or dent don't hurt too much. It's already been resprayed so there is no problem respraying a panel here or there to keep it up to scratch.

    ?

I never had this problem despite being young and self employed...

Shop around for the loan dude, speak to a broker if you haven't already.

i get the feeling EVERYONE on the forum wants you to keep the zed...

with the amount of money you have spent on it (like the front bar) it is obvious you are more then just a zed owner.
selling it will leave a massive hole and no amount of furniture will fill it up.

    keep the damn zed!:zlove::zlove::zlove::zlove:
    lol

all that gear was on it when he bought it off cra-z-boy, he was going to add the recaro's, wheels & headers but has sold most of it already so he's not losing much coin really.

ed question though, this $8k payment your talking about is this the 'lenders mortgage insurance' (LMI) or something else???
If something else then you need to shop around because its not standard. If you are talking about an LMI payment then yes it is standard & has been around for ages. you realise it gets smaller if you borrow less money yeah? You have to pay it if your borrowing more than 80% of purchase price but the closer to 80% the less LMI you pay.

Regardless a gorgeous car that should be snapped up quickly considering what price standard verts go for.

    cheers, Tim

You cant get awya from paying mortgage insurance if you have under 20% equity regardless of the bank.

Keep the car and go and buy furniture from Hardly Normal who are now doing interest free till 2011.

Lots of interest free deals around ATM

Yep, sad days when a mint zed like this moves on

Nice to see you again yesterday Erick!

Folks: the price range is certainly in the upper quadrand but you know what you are buying here. This is one pampered baby ... and can be compared to an as new car ... Totally in a different league to many of the run-of-the-mill zeds out there.

Whenever anything goes wrong with it, Erick was and is always quick to get it fixed...I've had the pleasure of servicing her for Erick.

The following sentence is meant in the all best intentions ... I must admit, (and this is a testiment to the care this zed gets) Erick is so careful with her he could be likened to an automotive hypochondriac :zlove:. And as you'd imagine, once I check it out, there's nothing wrong with it! Several times after he's worriedly asked me to check something out, I've said to Erick "It's nothing! Now take it home, stop worrying about it and enjoy it".

Anyone with the bucks considering a 350Z trade up would be well advised to check this out as a viable alternative. Its rarity and condition means it should retain its value, like very few other cars these days.

PS: Erick, let me know if the idle drop adjustment is OK now.
