Do you have an aftermarket exhaust?

It's likely the heat shields were not replaced and the exhaust sits closer to the transmission tunnel. I fixed this by wrapping the exhaust with exhaust wrap.

tassuperkart Its a lie I tell you!

Ill wager that the servo motor which controls the heated/fresh air mix door and the hot water tap together is not working/disconnected blah.

Your not going to like much the answer to what your next question is going to be................!!!!!

Maybe, but unlikely the cause of this, the absense of heat shields on the transmissino tunnel is pretty common on manual cars, they tend to get "forgotten" by mechanics after a clutch change. This heats up the tunnel pretty quickly, resulting in the hot gear stick and LH foot well.

Yeah but you usually feel the hot air blowing out the vents...I had that problem previously.

He seems quite specific on where it's getting hot...

i was screwing around with the iaa and when adjusted wrongly caused the exhaust to get really hot including drivers seat and console to the point where you could smell the glue and resins from the trim materials.
Have you tried to adjust base idle without a consult recently?

Adjusting your idle should definately not do that!

I suppose you could do it with the exhaust in place...but I don't know how good a wrap you would get. I would drop the exhaust and wrap it nice and tight from the dumps or headers (don't know if you have TT or NA) back to the Cats. Depending on if it's ever been removed or not, exaust nuts can be rusted on pretty firm, and you could end up snapping the studs rather than undoing the nut. So it's up to you if you can do it yourself.
