    Fellow Zedders,

I'm looking at getting the following immobiliser, it's passive 3-point all black wiring and Aust. made/approved

    3-Point Immobiliser

Looks pretty good, and having an antenna with a passive key gives you a lot of options to install it in non-standard places around the car...

Was wondering if anyone would be interested in a group buy ? I've just e-mailed the seller to see if he'll do any discount if we ordered say 10

If you are interested could you reply to this...
Just get a rough idea of numbers for now - not a full commitment at this stage :)

    Cheers,

    Matt.

Got a reply back (very quick !) $85ea. for 10 - $15 off, might be able to

push him a bit harder if we have committed buyers...

Also if you want an alarm as well, for remote doors etc. try this, pretty good deal:

    Alarm

I've been having a bit of a chat with Rohan about it... I'm probably going to get both, that way you can have the remote doors, paging alarm etc. plus a 3-point immobiliser, and always good to have two systems - confuse the thieves a bit :)
Perhaps we can do a group buy on these as well ?
And maybe a tech day for installation... Although you'd probably want no-one else to know about your exact installation ;) always safer...

I can certainly put something together for anyone that buys one, various points to immobilise the car (with wiring colours !) various ideas for install locations etc. You can then choose your own installation from the information...

    Matt.

How about this one, I think it might be a little better

Stop thieves in their tracks with an easy to use but highly effective Anti Hijack security system.

If by chance you are the unfortunate victim of a car hijacking be sure in the knowledge that the thief will not get away with your car!

This system is a fully functioned immobiliser and can be connected to your vehicles central locking (if fitted).

You simply walk away from you vehicle and the system will arm itself and lock the doors (with c/lock connected).

Upon your return the system will shut down and unlock your doors.

Finally, if you are car jacked, approximately 15 seconds later the vehicles indicators will begin to flash and a few seconds later the vehicle will begin to slow down and then stop, leaving the thief with no option but to run...WITHOUT YOUR CAR!

BTW cost is something like $180 -$160

Group buy price would probably be cheaper.

What I love about it is there are no buttons to press just approach the car and it unlocks the doors and disarms the immobilizer. The reverse occurs when you walk away.

I don't know how this would work with a turbo timer though.

    Battery last 2 years.

I got an alarm imported by a friend from Korea,

Anyways it has a colour LCD, it starts your engine and put up the windows automatically when u lock the car (if they are down) Also friendly with turbo timers and has a 1km range. It also connected to the fuel pump and the rest of it. U press the breaks once ur in the car to start it and it locks ur doors and opens the door when the key is taken out..all these lil features that make it worth while...Plus on the screen it shows where on your car ppl are touching or breaking..u can turn the car off aswell.

Its similar to a boomarang except the wiring is different so not many ppl will no how to play with it.

Anyways i payed $650 for all this including installation which takes hours. Usually you get charged more then $500 just for laboour in putting one of these in..

I think he would do me a favour and do them for $650 if yas like somthing different.

Sounds good for those who don't have an alarm

Unfortunately I already do, and it took me two full days to install.

You better be careful your alarm doesn't drive off with your car some day, as it can do just about everything else.:p

Does this interface with an alarm ? I was after a paging alarm to deter/

let me know of break-ins and then the immobiliser for insurance and to prevent it from going walkies...

Also is it 3-point immob. ?
Would be cool to just walk up to the car and get in without having to press any buttons though !

    Cheers,

    Matt.

It's like a radio waved sensor that picks up on the signal within distance.

If you've ever seen SWORDFISH. it's like the dog collars. If you walk away it locks. when your close it detects the signal and opens.

Only problem i see with this is the fact that if your too close and don't realise, Couldn't someone drive off with your car????/

Stop being lazy and press the damn button lol :p

The same alarm i got also comes with a pager. You put a sim card in it and it sends you sms messages and calls you. You can also ring in to the alarm and your voice will be heard through your car speakers. So you can talk to the theives?? and have a nice friendly conversation haha

That version is a lil extra but i dont think it opens the doors if your close to it

The owner of the business said 10m

Apparently it can either interface with an alarm

or remain as a standalone unit.
