Have any of you guys had the 100K service kit installed by a workshop ? This week i am thinking of taking the zed to UAS and get that done, but i just want to know how much would it cost me and what prices you got it done for.
Edit: I already bought the 100K kit, just interested in labour

Get the kit off K-Zed, $720, it's really not that hard. You should have plenty of time since you can't drive ;)

You guys are all big pansy's!!! Host a tech day, just the cost of Beer and snags!!

But if you don't want to do that the service manual apparantly says about 8 hours, so allow for 12 at $65/hr = $780 + consumables.

we charge $539 for the 100K service labour, or 7 hours.

I dont think i will bother with a dyno right now because i would be very dissapointed, preety much stock, except for pod and UDP that would go on with the service done. I will get one after i get the Speciality z mufflers and maybe x pipe.

$780 isnt too bad, i was thinking somewhere around the $900 mark.

If i was in Brissie i would definately be at your door :D. I just cant trust many people with the car around here, so UAS it is because of the experience they have with zeds.

Good idea, to do the job properly you need tools/workshop/know-how. Great for the people that have them but if not then put those hours you would've spent on the car into making some extra $$ and pay someone to do it right.

the fleet/amec price is quite exceptional and a further

demonstration of how pete is really looking after brisbane zedders ...

i think that you will find the uas labour rate significantly higher and around $95.00ph ..???? .. x how many hours ...

For locals in ACT, you can do it yourself with advice + help + encouragement from the local Zed experts who have done it many times - costs you a couple of cases. All done in a day.

Best value for money IMO plus passing on of knowledge. I have helped out in 2-3 so far - I've learnt a lot plus it's great experience and preparation for when one of my Zeds comes due in about 12 months. Mind you, I'm not advertising this, nor including names or addresses, just suggesting that those who have the know-how in each location may like to consider a similar approach. It's so easy when someone is holding your handing and making sure you don't make any mistakes - like getting the timing belt 1 tooth out for instance.

I remember there was a post some time ago to fly one of the QLD gurus to Sydney to do a 100k service workshop. It seemed like a good idea too. Don't know what happened 'though.

    Cheers,

    Peter

    Also compare

Compare what you are getting or what is done in major service as some refer to a major serivice as front of engine only.

We are not cheap if comparing to Qld or other but well priced especially for what you get for Sydney. Plus being specialist and with these zeds they often unfold and we have used, new and aftermarket parts in stock to save time and money. However I might add if we do major service we supply the parts.

Our mechanics are from Porsche and BMW and Lexus and were billed out at $130 and hour plus.

Beware of EBAY parts in general and cheap mechanics or NON mechanics working on your zed, as it can cost you. They end up on two trucks here all the time after the fact.

Ummmm John hopefully you're not accusing me of putting up dodgy mechanics.

I've had plenty of stuff done by Mark and MRC Dyno and Performance. I first took my car there after paying for one of your mechanics to diagnose a misfire. Your guys couldn?t find the fault and actually made it worse by putting in the wrong spark plugs.

I wouldn't exactly call Mark a novice on zeds or cheap - although his hourly rate is quite a bit cheaper than UAS. I found his service and explanation of work being carried out to be exceptional. I also liked the fact that you can watch your car being worked on.

Parts used are also not ebay dodgy, for my car anyway Mark bought and used allot of the parts you supply.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Mark Chapman use to work for UAS?

Re: major service..................I dont know if im hearing you correctly. So do you only do major service when we use your parts?

I do agree with you on dodgy mechanics, there are plenty out there so beware.
