I got mine hiflowed by hypergear as have a few others on the forum. I'm happy with the service and the product.

I suggest getting genuine garret 28RS cores fitted into your OEM housings then you know you have the quality of garret parts.

This is mine, exhaust side showing the difference in size compared to stock:

are some of the hi flows hypergear has done used non genuine garret cores?

That was my understanding, using the real cores made it quite a bit more pricey. I know Benny had the real ones used and thought it cost him around $2100.

i think it makes a decent difference though, my highflows with genuine cores seem to perform differntly to the hpergear items

If your exhaust wheel is 47mm with 9 blades then its genuine garrett gt28rs like adamness

And anyone highflowing turbos should use manual .63 ar (687 on housing) as the auto .54ar kind of defeats the purpose by choking the top end

Me and benny asked specifically for genuine cores and still the wheels aren't garret ones. This is copied direct from a PM from hypergear:

we use geninue Garrett bearing kits, using Mallet turbine wheel and turbine international comp wheel.

Thats what me and benny have in ours. $850 per turbo.

You also need adjustable actuators if you want to push more than about 17psi or you will get waste gate creep. I used HKS ones which cost me $250 or so because I couldn't find the ones I bought off hypergear haha.. I found them after ofcourse..

If you want the best hiflow service available then contact John at UAS. They upgrade the wastegate and stuff so you don't get compresser surge, although I haven't experienced any surge with my turbos. UAS is obviously a more expensive option but you get what you pay for! Most people doing a hiflow though usually are doing it as they don't want to spend much $$$.

On a side note, you really should have a look around and see what genuine garret kits you can get, especially with how the AUS dollar is vs USD. Its going to cost you about $1800 to get the turbos hiflowed by hypergear + adjustable actuators + dumps you're looking at about $2400 which really is about the same as getting these which come with EVERYTHING you need including dumps in one kit with no stuffing around.

Garrett never made the wheel and shaft that we want to suit this type of bearing housing. stand along parts available suit OEM bearing housings can never break 300rwkws. Garrett makes quality parts, but not the only people who can do so.

Today we make all wheels and bearing components including cnc machined billet wheels that we use. We also developed different wheels and housings in gain better response and torque.

Current high flows run FNT turbine setups which does not have the blank spot down low as the older ones did. Machined alloy comp wheels allow greater flow with less materials there for less weight. We can get a big turbo's performance with baby turbo's response. Further details about the SS turbo project and developments check our site or SAU.

PS. Adam, Bennet high flows are no different to yous.
