AIV and PRVR delete Whilst you got the guards off do a full AIV and PRVR delete. Grind off all the brackets that hold that crap in place too. Gives a good 5-10kg weight saving and removes some vacuum lines from the engine bay. Some great info here: http://s95014253.onlinehome.us/63104/138229.html
I could just prime and paint. but i think with a little bit more time and effort put in I could make it look better with the dremel
just another update as I drain my bank account. New turbos have been puchased with dumps cannot wait for these puppies to arrive. hope to get the engine out this weekend and start playing around, my manual conversion arrives this week too and will start putting that in. The question raised is that I see guys with manual cars have put in cruise control with OEM parts. is it easy to hook up the manual box with the cruise control from the auto already still in place? I read I may need to change to a manual C/C computer?
Engine crane and mates are booked in for Saturday morning. So out she comes finally, will strip it down see if I can see any issues. and go from there. fingers crossed somehow its still in one piece. Looking great so far. Ejoying the read. Wheres the obligatory photo standing in the empty engine bay with beer? Seems to be a common theme round here. Looking forward to the rest of the rebuild.
