AUS Nissan/Datsun Nationals April 2011, Goulburn NSW

Well I'm sorry..but Craig and I are going to have to bail ...

Would have been all good, except I wasn't expecting that Craig and I would be getting married on April 30, 2011.

So I'm very sorry ...and very upset...was looking forward to this event ..
We were tossing up that we might still be able to go, but we kind of need to be in Bali the week before to ensure everything will go to plan..

Does anyone know where Zedfest is being held in 2012?? I can't wait any longer for another MAJOR event

 

Yeah, i don't think i'll be able to make this one either guys.

...side note, So that's the "big day" for you guys hey Renee? Good time of year for a wedding, and i demand 1000+ pics please!

 

Anyone found any info on registration yet? Seems like the Sydney mob running this are really taking their time...

nothing unusual with that, L/Baz .... check out the history of previous Nationals ... Warwick being a prime example ...

because of Warwick, i will not be bothering about GOULBURN ... and that, undoubtedly, will please quite a few ... lol .. the plus being my first Easter at home for some years ...

It is a different club hosting the next Nats compared with Warwick. Don't judge all of them by one.

 

i just want to see you all for a weekend anyway .. screw the politics of the matter haha.

be great to be surrounded by nissans (Z's mainly) and like minded people for a few days. Be good to organise some sort of "day cruise" for those of us not completely track oriented to canberra or something for the day

 

thank you for that advice, Pete ... but rest assured that i used the words ".. check Nationals history .." quite deliberately and with reason ... there is history prior to Warwick .. Warwick simply sealed it for me .... sad but true ...

I (and some others) were unable to get to the Gold Coast for the X-mas party to meet you guys and pay our homage to the knowledge and wisdom you carry. (BS..alarm ) :rofl: Apart from that its a great excuse to get on the grog and have a great time
I am sure other people would love to see your cars in all their glory eg. concourse
I am all for a cruise to canberra for a day out or what ever.
Zedfest 2012 is just too far away.

 

im gunna hall my 10% gin spec zed( ding below fuel cap) down for sure i missed armidale and dont want to miss this maybe we can have a convoy on the way down for those coming from brisbane and build up as we go through the towns just an idea
and yes procky the idea of a trip to canberra for us who aint tracking it sounds good

Mate, unless you have been involved in organising a nationals like I have you probably have no idea whats involved. They are run by volunteers, 95% of who do their best which invariably involves personal expense and time, a lot of time. For no return, little thanks and whinging from a small minority like you.

 

i am well aware of what is involved, thank you very much ...... !!!!! ... i have been personally responsible for and have headed a number of major events much larger that the Nissan/Datsun Nationals with budgets beyond your imagination ... i am not a "johnny come lately" and speak from a base of considerable knowledge and experience.

and after being stuffed around for 6 months, following the event, by an Organising Committee member, I received a personal apology for the way i had been treated from the "head honcho" of the "Zcar Club, QLD" .. maybe that will tell you something ...???

AND to wrap up, i do not whinge ... use of such emotional, crap language adds nothing other than to display a sad lack of real knowledge or a logical basis for sensible discussion ..

good one, Chris .. and i omitted to add that it does seem that i am not the only whinger ..there were, indeed, a goodly number most dissatisfied with happenings at Warwick and these were not only 300zx owners.

plus, the previous history i referred to included the Nissan Datsun Nationals, 2005, and where was this event held ... ???? yep, Goulburn ... !!!! ... lol

and finally, the work and efforts of Volunteers must be recognized, acknowledged and applauded .. most major sporting events, worldwide, ( Tennis, Golf, Motorsports et al) depend on these faithful fans for their success and cost containment .. it is when the management/planning of these resources fail that the event can become tainted ..
