Yes common fault with the inverter or EL panel dying, have a search on here, there should be a few threads about repairing them.
Yeah same as Rob, I use a pair of the HAPP low profile ramps to get the zed high enough to get the jack under then pop it on stands....

Fronts will be a bit sunken, you might need to look at a bolt on spacer. At 8.5" a good 'safe' offset is +25 so a 10mm spacer will get you close....
