3071R with a 0.5 housing on a 2.5 litre? That's a little on the small side... Is that the GT28 Housing?!? That thing would be choking up something fierce. I hear nothing but bad things on the GT28 housing GT30's, overboost/back pressure city. Even if it's the smaller GT30 housing on the 2.5, I would have thought that to be too small - going to all that trouble to tack on a 'small' turbo.
Good luck, you'll be making a lot more power than the skyline I would have thought :)

300ZX will blow its doors off if its a GTT. Love how everyones backing the skyline, 0.50 rear housing on a GT30 is most likely a highflow as real GT30's don't come with .50 exhaust housings ;) also the skyline is on stock injectors & AFM ..... limited to 230rwkw or so gents.

EDIT: Just read its on an Apexi AFC aswell, man you'd toast him on std turbos.

Bog power means shit at the drags if the drivers is shit, what coilovers does he have and clutch, and tyres?
My mate had a R34 GTT with a motor swap to rb26 with nice ypgrade including n1 turbos, making 300+rwkw but could only manage a flat 13!

    I Remember a certain individual who barely managed a 13 with a 310.4kw zed...

I'm pretty sure he was doing 14's :p

Thats so true. When i ran last, there was an R34 GTT with catback & FMIC from what i saw and was doing 15.1 second passes @ 93-94mph lol. Simply put though, the skyline won't be much trouble if you can drive.

well unless he changes things majorly before next year... he has stock suspension

i have tein SS coilovers and a few other adjustment goodies.

And yes i need to practice my launches haha.

BTW, what clutch would be good to go with, i was going to get a new one soon anyway (not that i need it but yeah)... so may as well get something to see if it helps haha.

Man, you should school him good. More capacity, more power, and I think better response. Set your coilovers high (soft) to allow weight transfer to the back tyres for better traction. Maybe think about an NA diff for the lower ratio as well. Makes a huge difference.

    you should toast him.

people throw thousands upon thousands into rb25det's and usually do not make over 250rwkw, and even when the engines do make a fair amount of power, they just usually do not seem to be vary fast.

The only thing which swings the favour back his way a little is the crappy diff ratio in the TT.

Oh i'm not so sure about that, my dad had a 350rwkw R33 GTSt and that was the fastest car i've been in by far and i've been in/driven a heap of jap imports. When they're standard and on standard boost they are fairly crap IMO, but put some proper work into them and they become weapons.

Even better switch to standard suspension for the day. Get some great squat over the rear with them.

So i went around to see this car the other day,

Its pulled appart, exhaust off, dirty dirty engine bay... turbo still sitting there (apparently they broke a bolt off so need to drill it out ? LOL )

So im still waiting to see the 3071R mounted up and see the car tuned.. i may get my 28R's and other work done first still ;)
