Ill find out tomorrow. Ive purchased a stocko 2+2 na auto to take measurements off. It arrives around lunchtime. I have started contacting performance shops that have widebody cars in their portfolio to see how they got them complied.

That's a shame to hear. What is the likelihood of your car being investigated by QLD Transport anyway? surely it wouldn't be that high.

Trouble is, cops see a younger guy driving an obviously modified car & unless they're on their way to Maccas or to arrest a naked girl - they typically want to pull you over. As they look about for something to ping you over they see wheel spacers or the unusually wide rear tyres & you're done yet again.

At least your news wasn't that your GF was being nailed buy the dodgy mod bloke every time you were blowing your time in the garage. Gotta wonder why she'd let you start on another one!

Does anyone have any info on these rims that came on the 1999 z32?

With much sadness I have to let you all know that this project is over. The wheels got sold 2 weeks ago and I wont be putting any more time into finishing it. It has been a hard decision to make considering the time put into it but it makes no sense to go any further.

I wanted to build a widebody kit that was completely legal, I can sort of legaly get it on the road but I will always be running the gauntlet and doing a dance with TMR, which was not the point of the build. If I were to complete it I am realistically looking at at least another 18months on body work alone and with a kid on the way I dont want to put that time into a car that doesn't drive.

I have also realized that this widebody car is not really a car suitiable for me. As tough as It looks, I love driving, hard. I like track days, autocross and drifiting. All things this widebody car is going to be horrible at but the v8 zed will be brilliant for.

The hardest part of all of it is admitting I made a huge mistake taking on this project and I destroyed my very nice gold zed in the process. :(

Not sure what Ill do with the shell once Im finished using it as a dummy for the v8. But Ill let you all know.

Very sad indeed mate. But I think you are making the right choice. As you said its not even a practical modification that is worth the time and effort.

I like your v8 project. It will be tough. Bad ass and totally useable.

Sorry to hear Al, be a pity not too see this car finished. Maybe keep it for a later date and do it up for a special occasions situation like car shows, drags etc.

:( Such a shame to hear that Al. Was indeed an ambitious project and a big shame it didn't come to fruition. Obviously feeling gutted right now, feeling like your time was wasted - though if you had never tried it, you'd have always regretted it.

Agree with Steve, would be great to see this kit on show as a 'special event' 300ZX.
