Hey guys, just wondering what a car like this would be worth.

    NA 5spd Slicktop
    ~220,000km on the body
    Freshly resprayed in Aztec Red
    Brazilian Hatch
Freshly rebuilt motor with light cylinder head work & Major service done
    Big sound system
    2.5" UAS Exhausts
    Spare NA motor with ~150,000km
    ~20,000km old clutch
    AAR Bucket Seats
    Black tweed Interior.

    Extra bits and bobs:
Complete Twin Turbo kit - Standard bits though
    2x Spare Radiators
    Lowered Springs
    Spare TT Fuel Pump
    Lowered Springs

Would $8,000 be too much to ask for a car of that spec?

    ;)

IMO the spares do nothing to add value to the car.

You might get half of that if you're lucky.
Unfortunately the value of the Z32's has diminished severely.
Perhaps it has something to do with supply & demand, as well as the quality of cars on offer.

Yeah. 8 K is asking a lot. Although the motor sounds like it'd be in good nick there isn't actually anything on there that would make it worth much more than average, though I def think you'll get more than 4k for it.

I actually disagree - I've seen NA worse than that clear for 8000+

I think 8k was a good start point

Whats it worth and what you get are two different things

Having said that - how long is a piece of string is a similiar question?

I think it depends on supply and demand of the owner and buyer - Between 4k - 8k I estimate from a PICTURE - so the mean average of that would be 6k - the rest is tap dancing!

    Cheers

I'm going to assume that your thinking of selling your zed...personally i would stay away or expect half of the 8k price tag as i know that its been taken to the drags a few/several times & being a P plater owned zed is another reason why it could have been thrashed...yet that is a common misunderstanding with a lot of P platers.

I would say 5k, but for your sake i hope you get what you are after. Good luck.

First off, i'm a fully licenced driver

Second off, It will be getting a REBUILT engine put in so your argument of it "being dragged" sorta means shit all.

Thirdly, i don't for ONE SECOND believe that any zed on here isn't thrashed. I dont care what people define as thrashing, i don't believe anyone who owns a Jap RWD car and says "its not thrashed"

It's not how much it's worth

It's how much someone is prepared to pay for it

It's not just about the body and engine, interior etc. It's how the car presents itself as a whole unit, condition of all the little things (trims/clips/rubbers), how much it's been changed from stock (either good or bad way)

    I'd be looking around 5k

You can't ask what its worth then have comebacks for peoples opinions. Take it or leave it.

Personally, only thing going for it is slicktop, but I like my targas. I wouldn't buy an na anyway so to me its worth stuff all.

Really? Someone on the forum? When was that? I guess it depends on the actual car and who is willing to pay for it.
I'd say 8k would be what you'd expect for an average TT nowadays.

I think you should get close to 8k for it
but how ever the fact the your car has had a rebuilt engine in it would put people off the price a little bit, not all people but a few.
i believe you should be able to get around $5800 - $7200 around there
Also if you are looking at selling it you might as well put it up for what ever price you want even if it is a little higher than what your asking for, cause more than likely who ever comes to look at the car with try negotiate the price anyways

When I bought my NA 7 months ago It was on sale for 8k but paid 7k because of some minor repairs needed, I got a great buy and and its well worth the 7k that I paid.

8k is definitely a good start point for your car SRB:D

Have to agree with Mike...dont ask for opinions if you not going to like them lol

As i said in my post...its a personal opinion :p

I would stay far away from it if i was in the market knowing its history or how it was driven. There have been quite a few zeds go for around the 8k mark in recent times with a nice paint jobb or still stock paint but in good condition, interior is clean & looks nice...so your zed is unfortuantely not to what i would be looking for.

Engine can be rebuilt or stock...it doesnt really mean much as ive seen plenty of threads on dodgy rebuilds or cheap parts being used. It doesnt really affect the price much. It might help to have a zed thats been resprayed & its engine rebuilt...but you would definitely not get the money back you plan on spending on it to sell for a higher price.

Sorry to not be on your side here Abe, but you are kinda cutting any chance of him selling his ride by saying its flogged, and you would stay away from it, if its on the market... he was just asking for a price, not personal attacks lol

This is why our zeds are so low in price, because everyone in the z communtiy is constantly attacking everyone elses value of there car driving prices down....Think about it, apraise everyones cars higher, bring yours up higher!

Rods Devil Zed for sale is priced i think bang on for what he has put into that thing and what you get as a zed.....

    Peace

Except Rod isn't selling his Z...

Nem, if you're going to sell it then sell it how it is now. Cut your losses and spend it on another car. Like previously stated, you won't make back what you spend on it.

in 2010 my NA sold for 6k.

Had standard mods like pod filter, brazillian, wheels, TTZ extractors, magnaflow zorst. Wasn't in an amazing condition but wasn't bad either - A1 mechanically and I let it go for 6. Was happy given that I paid 5.5. I'd never expect to make money on mods/spares but thats just me.
