Are these defectable, i know the rules are different from state to state, but i think nsw and qld are much the same

 

how well do they fit a Zeds A pillar?

ive seen some damn good fitting ones and some totally crappy ones, any pics of them fitted?

 

I think the law is that pillar mounted gauges need to be low enough so the head doesnt come in contact with them in a collision, well thats what I heard from Pex anyway.

i saw this setup where this Zed had a Triple pod setup with say NA - volts, oil and the third one had a shift light built in. If only i could find it again id say id be in for a triple From memory the guy said he bought it from Ebay but of course only had them LHD. Any one know if we could source them here????

yeh want to know how well they fit. if the fitting ain't that great, i'd rather save the money and fork out on the proper fitting ones.

Does the Universal pods fit the autometer 2 1/16th gauges Pete?

I know with some gauges if you try and fit them into the autometer one some are either too small or too big... The ones that are just a little bit big do fit and very tight fit...

I have a Dual A pillar autometer gauge holder only got boost in there for now but i am looking at getting a 3 guage one if they fit the A pillar well and will fit the autometer gauges It sounds stupid i know but some gauge holders dont fit all gauges

are the Universal pods include postage? or + either way i will most likey end up buying one anyways hehe

oh the other difference is the Autometer pods are designed to fit the Z32, the universal ones are, well, universal

 

I will test this out tomorrow and see how the 2 1/16 Autometer gauge fits with the universal pods.

Fleet I have got oil pressure and oil temp. I will probably get the boost off you and maybe the water temp. (Amec). What guages are best to have out of these? boost, oil pressure and what else? Do you think I should get the water temp? Or is the oil temp all I need?

Where and how can I mount the other 1 or 2 guages as will be putting boost and another one on the pillar? Whats best to go on the pillar?

And also can you tell that there is the autometer pillar installed when its in or does it just look stock? I'm fairly sure GReddy do the same but more expensive..

Looking forward to pics.. If it looks like its stock I think I'll get it unless there is a 3 pod pillar made for the 300zx..

Water temp would be higher priority than Oil Temp, gotta keep an eye on that! I have to see tomorrow if Autometer have 60mm gauge pod mounts if you want the Defi Smoked face gauges pillar mounted.

I would put Boost and Water temp on the pillar, being the 2 most important to keep your eye on. For the other 2 gauges, you could go with Mounting cups, have a look at www.amecautocare.com.au/AutometerProducs.htm or Street to Strip have some other mounting solutions available.
