Ill second that! Are they new timing belt covers or are they sprayed/layered on?

Looks great Karl, all the best, should be putting out some very impressive power figures, what snails and psi will you be using and what power are you expecting?

Noticed your putting the engine in with the dif assembly attached, is this a tight fit, i took my engine out and i undone the dif assembly from the motor, but if its easier to do, i might put the engine and dif assembly in together and load it in together.

    Nice work none the less

Timing belt covers have gone through a process done by Modicoat, it's not carbon fibre just the print that is applied gives that impression.

Snails are GT2560R, going to run around 22PSI when I need to get serious. Power not to sure but in the 300's somewhere.

Engine and gearbox go in bolted together as stated in the service manual. The front cross member needs to be dropped slightly to clear. According to the service manual, this won't work with an auto.

    You should

be able to get 500whp with those turbos @22psi. You have all the support mods to go with them, and forged ect, 500whp shouldn't be a problem for you.

Which equals 372.84KW. Like I said, somwhere in the 300's ;)

90TTZ your engine looks sensational... Those timing covers finish it off nicely... Not long left now...

Thanks for the compliment:) I think it will be more appreciated when it is viewed as a complete package with the rest of the mods done to the engine bay itself.

Did a little testing this morning. I set up the coil packs with spark plugs on the plenum and hooked up my spare CAS. I connected the ECU and then the battery and turned the key to 'on'. Dreading the full speed fuel pump sound indicating an ECU fault, it rather buzzed away happily and stopped, *wipes brow*.

Then proceeded to turn the CAS around and clickity clack away went the injectors and the spark plugs making little jumps of bright blue light, except #1:mad: Tomorrow I'll search into my PTU wiring what the cause is, I'm sure it's something little.

Finally before I closed up the shed, I thought lets bring up the oil pressure. Turned the key to start and heard that familiar sound of the starter motor doing it's thing and about 20 seconds later, the oil pressure needle moved away from zero, hooray!!!

First part of run in is to fast idle the engine until operating temp then drop the oil and filter to get rid of the flying metal caught in the filter and the smaller stuff entrained in the oil. I'm gonna let my neioghbours know the Z has life once again when I do this part straight out of the dumps :D
