Well it finally arrived, few hicups regarding drop off after agreeing to buy it weeks ago but it's sorted now and as of about 6.30 tonight it's mine It's had a shitload of money spent on it in a past life when cra-z-boy owned it, about $80 000 worth but the big things still on it are -bare metal respray in house of colour orange -forged motor (not currently running) -ported and polished heads -new gearbox -new NISMO R230 diff gears -HKS multiplate clutch -2000 spec headlights, front bar and tailights -wings west sideskirts -stillen real bar -big stereo install -microtech ECU (running a MAP sensor with AFM delete) -A'pexi AVCR -koyo rad -UAS SMIC's etc etc etc. After it arrived I pt it on charge, got enough charge in it to crank it over 3 times and then the battery died, then it REALLY stunk of fuel. The car also stunk of fuel 2 years ago when it stopped running and it was never diagnosed, unlikely but the problem could just be fuel hoses/clamps will upload pics when imageshack decides to play nice heres a teaser Plans are -get it running -chuck on some big turbo's -put on my volk rims with semi slicks -replace the spoiler with a carbon GT wing thats removable when it on the road -vented bonnet -recaro seats and retrim the interior in black leather and carbon fiber -throw some adjustable suspension bits at it (as in adjustable everything ) have some fun at the track, it is licenced but I have a daily
Can't wait to see it going. Did you check under the car yet? Pull the engine. You may not need bigger turbos, those HKS should be there.
Sounds like it'll be a beast once it's up and running! I want to see how this orange looks in person lol
good luck mate its such a nice looking car, just a shame it wasn't maintained properly by the previous owner, def get rid of those rims, they belong on little fwd cars
well the project could be over before it really started. I pulled the plenum on friday night after work and replaced the O-rings on saturday. put everything back together and removed the sparkplugs to do a compression test. cylinder first round compression test second round comp test 1 150 160 2 175 170 3 150 160 4 170 150 5 170 170 6 150 135 for the second round I put the fuel feed into the fuel return so no fuel was getting to the rail as there is still a fuel leak (prob stuck injector) I'm going to do another compression test but will squirt a bit of oil into each cylinder first just to make sure the fuel washing the bore wasn't affecting the comp results. If the compression remains really uneven then I'll be parting it out
Aww It would be a shame to part her out...try and get her back on the road. I think I still have the vid of the big down south cruise with MrTT in there, years and years ago. I remember just staring at those gorgeous headlights when we were all parked out in Freo. Car looked awesome back then...So nice. Would be sad to let her go to waste. HOWEVER, if you do decide to part her out, I have dibs on the headlights. Cheers Rob.
Sorry Rob but you're a bit late!.......dibs on these lights happened last week! :zlove::zlove::zlove: http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=299328
