Moula i see that you have moved onto better things just like myself, although it is a shame that your going to sell your 300ZX after all the effort you put into it. Good luck with it all.

Not for quite a while mate. She won't go till A, all the minor issues after the build have been sorted, B, I've had some time to enjoy her full potential.

In the mean time, for those who did not notice the thread in the Non-Z Related, I did indeed pick up my 370 last week.

    Update: Final Update

Suppose I should officially update this for those that still occasionally ask me on the progress.

Long story short, life got in the way. As mentioned in the posts above I did take up a new job, which saw absolutely zero time left for tinkering with the Zed. It sat there for quite some time, I wasn't sure what to do with it.

I did not once officially advertise it for sale, however somehow word got around I was possibly interested in selling... and one thing led to another with one member on here for whom I felt had the right heart and mindset to take over the car and cross that finish line.

Wish him all the best, and anyone wishing to follow this Zed's story should now head over to: http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=325187. I am extremely grateful at the offer he's put forward that I can still take her out for a spin if I'm desperate for a fix (and I swear mate it crosses my mind so many times, hah, damn you for living so far away!). I am still eagerly awaiting to hear of how much RWKW she's going to lay down once the remaining couple of issues are sorted.

I still occasionally troll through the posts here and still attend events. Still active on Facebook as always so extremely easy to reach me there. However, with the purchase of the 370Z also mentioned above, I am also now with the ZClub and some NSW members will notice in recent months there have been meetups between the two groups. This is something I will continue to encourage as we're all 'Z' Cars after all, and the ZClub guys do seem like a really friendly bunch as well. :)

I still maintain there will never be a car that tugs at my heart strings quite like the Z32, it was an obsession that has lasted some 21 years and will continue. Should I ever have the opportunity to snag one of the last few that rolled off the production Nissan Shatai assembly line I damn well will.

And with this, I bid this thread a final goodbye. I appreciate all who encouraged, assisted and watched my own 300ZX adventure unfold.

    Cheers,
    Emile

    Emile,

You don't ever have to be desperate to take her for a spin. She's yours to take for a drive whenever.

There's something inside my head which keeps telling me that someday this Z will end up back where I believe she truly belongs, I guess time will only tell.

Many thanks for the best wishes!

Ok digging a bit of an old part of the thread. Anyone else run into this issue and come up with better options? I'm in the same boat, thread is wrong. Bought the thing ages ago. I'm starting to think a helicoil is the easiest option?

Ok a helicoil ain't gonna come anywhere near close.

New thread is an M10x1.5 and the old one is an M12x1.25

Not even sure a twinsert is going to do it given the M10x1.5 maximum correction is 1.86mm
    http://www.stanleyengineeredfasteni...ds/helicoil-oversize-and-twinsert-inserts.pdf

If I am reading their PDF right in theory a M10x1.5 twinsert suggests a 12.5mm drill size, which should clear out the old thread allowing the twinsert to go in and restore this to a correct M10x1.5 to suit the newer style ball.

The next question is whether the strength is going to be good enough...

Just an update. I've found a place over east that'll do a set of parts to fix it.

Basically a single insert, drill out larger, drop the new insert in and bam back to a M10x1.5 thread for the new style.

I've got all the bits on order at the moment so will see how it all goes. But may have a good fix for anyone in Perth at least having the issue.
