Could someone post up a description and pictures if possible of the difference between series 1 and 2 injectors. Is it true that the plenum and other components is different so it is not a straight forward swap. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

    mrkarter77 No Really, They do!!!

to swap s1 to s2 injectors, you can use your s1 rail, and the adapters (available at Z1 and CZP)

    Thanks
I'm trying to work out if I have series 1 or 2 already. So if I had series 1 and bought series 2 with series 2 fuel rails are the adapters for the plenum or do series 2 fit into a series 1 plenum without adapters.
    Cheers

Do they have square or oval shaped connectors?

S1 injectors have a square or rectangular shape connector where as the S2 has oval shaped.
    a) If you have S1 injectors (squarish/rectangular connectors) then you may have S1 rail and a S1 lower plenum or....
    b) You have S2 injectors (oval shaped connector) fitted to S1 fuel rail with adaptors fitted to a S1 lower plenum or S2 injectors fitted to a S2 rail on a S2 lower plenum.

    Hope that helps

    sorry to hijack

is it possible for the lower manifold to be machined to suit the series 2 injectors? i have 2nd hand jecs 540cc injectors with oval connector and have the aluminium spacer that sits in the rail but didn't come with the aluminium 'buckets' that go in the lower plenum. The car was supposedly running on it like this? just not sure wether this is true or the only way to run the series 2 injectors is with those lower plenum 'buckets' aswell?

The lower half is fine as S1, just need to use the S1 rail, and the buckets go into the rail, before the injector.

The adapter kit shouldn't require anything in the lower plenum. The ally adapter sits in the rail with a big o ring, then the injector sits in the adapter with a smaller o ring.

    Thanks Rob

Oh thanks Rob, just assumed the way they looked online they went in the lower plenum. Haven't done any z fuel upgrades yet so excuse my lack of knowledge :) thankyou again

O.k so if i have a series 1 lower plenum to fit series 2 injectors with series 2 fuel rail I will need adapters in the lower plenum.
    Thanks all

Cant comment, but i would believe some modification required. However you can use the S1 rail, in S1 lower plenum, and use adapters to fit them in.

I mean, you are replacing the injectors, might as well replace the o rings while you are there ;)

I am not aware of adaptors to fit S2 fuel rails to S1 lower plenum.
Most people who have S1 motors want to upgrade to the S2 injectors will use the S1 rail they have and just get the S2 injectors to S1 fuel rail adapters.....like me

O.K. so forget about series 2 fuel rail and just use series 2 injectors and adapters for the series 1 fuel rail and plenum :D and of course series 2 connectors.

    Thanks all
