damn damn.. got if off.. but damn..

after ready the tech articles, it says its a 2hour job.. i'm up to 2 hours and i only just got it off..

BUT... when i went to pull the rubber hose off that goes between the IAA and the AIR REG, it snapped and broke in to lots of little pieces.. must have been old and brittle..

is it possible to put any hose there? or is a nissan part that i have to order?

i can see why it was idling funny now, all the contact plugs were corroded. i'm yet to open it up..

any help would be great.. thanks again..

I cleaned all of mine before I pulled the engine, did the whole lot and

From memory, I think you need the nissan hose there as one of the hoses back there tapers down I *think*, either way, it is damn hard to get them all back on :p

If you do open it, be careful not to lose any of the little parts inside them. You can check what resistance is in and out of range for each part like it says in the tech article.

    Good luck

all fixed... ...wasn't even hard

i thought it was going to take for ever yesterday. after i pulled it all off and split the old hose i thought it was all over.. i went to autobarn and seen me mate, he gave me a bit of hose, 12mm for memory. i got up this morning and with in 30 minutes i had it all back together and it started first go. what a relief..

it's easier to put back in then pull out.. exept for the wire harness next to it. took me a bit to get that screw in..

all is in and the started and idled nicely. i gave it a rev and it returned to the same revs and didnt stall like normally..

of to take it for a test drive now and see how it handles..

stretch, do you think this will cure my problem also..

when cruising and i come to a set of lights, if i put it into nutural when the rev's are above 1500rpm it tries to stall but the engine doesnt let it, it getts down to around 500rpm though, but if i put it into nutural after gettin down to around 1100rpm its fine.. its a nigly problem i really wanna get rid of..

    90TTZ Back From The Dead

The symptoms Stretch had were not like that but may be related

to the same problem. The way we diagnosed it was the value of the IACV on datascan. A normally idling Zed gave a value of around 33, Stretches Zed was giving a value of 77. Stretch's Zed idle was hunting very badly regardless of it being in Park of in Gear.

    stretch has enough problems

i fixed it. went for a drive out of town, gave it a bit to see if i could stall it. but all worked good..

going out to see 90TTZ and plug in datascan and see if i fixed it properly..

i found the connector plugs that go in to the IACV were very clogged up. and that the hose was hard and brittle..

but after spending $2.50 on the hose and 3 hours in the garage it seems to have fixed the problem..
