It currently doesn't have any after market alarm system fitted. So I plan to install my new alarm in the next few days.

I was wondering if there are any anti-theft systems from factory that I'll have to send a disarm signal from my new alarm?

I'm not even sure if they come with any kind of system from stock or if it was integrated with the tape player or through the ecu etc... Google just made me more confused. As there are many factory options. Though google has told me it has some kind of system that breaks the ignition switch when the steering lock is broken? Not sure... :/

An anti-theft system was offered as an option for a while before later models got it as standard but if your car starts with the key currently without doing anything extra then there won't be any issue with whatever immobilizer / alarm you're fitting. Over 25yrs, some Z's have had several aftermarket systems fitted / replaced, if anything, you'll probably find there's some old junk to rip out.

I recommend you put in an alarm with central locking at the same time. The alarm will have a multipoint immobiliser or just tell the sparky what you actually want turned off which occurs automatically without you having to do it and forgetting. Also, central locking is so good to have :)

If you are doing it yourself, don't just get a system off ebay. I suggest to pay the $$$ and get a recognised brand. This way, if you loose the remotes or their useby expires, you can always get replacements and be up and running again in no time.

    Have fun!!

yeah I'm installing it myself. central locking consists of 1 entire solenoid motor lol Not sure what I'll do with the other 3 though :/ boot lock is all I can think of lol.

I've already worked out most of my wiring... just a couple of loose ends with factory features.

its a viper 2 way with gps. remote start is one of those gimmiky features... but I guess the more stuff its hooked into, the more stuff I can disable remotely.

Just gotta find a nice front / rear dashcam hooked up with the alarm then i'm sweet
