Coolant drain cocks in the block ... where are they? I've been looking around and I can't see anything that looks like a drain point for coolant. Does anyone have a picture that can show where they are; or describe where they are/what they look like? Please :)

Please note I am not talking about the one at the bottom of the radiator.

    Cheers

they aren't very easy to see and even less easy to get to, i'd wager, but they sit in about the middle of the block half way up towards the heads

Right side is located near the oil filter and right side engine mount.

Left side is beside left engine mount.

There's some info in the service manual, try this link http://300zx-twinturbo.com/cgi-bin/manual.cgi

Gee, now why didn't I think of that

How about a useful link instead of just assuming I didn't try to find out for myself before asking? I looked in there and tried searching posts but I could not find anything worthwhile. They are mentioned in the manual but there is no diagram of their location that I could find.

    Sorry, frustration ... and ... stuff ...

Click on maintenance and then jump to page 14. There's an illustration and a description of where they are.

    You're welcome.

They are all leading you astray mate.... well they have an idea but don't know exactly where it is... :p

They are either side of the block, under the welsh plugs, closest to the front of the engine. See pictures below...

    Hope this helps!

Thanks Rob, sorry for being a bit snappy before, was getting really frustrated not being able to find any info and getting a sore neck searching around under the car.

you won't get all the old coolant out through them.. seems the only way is by pulling the water pump as well.. though maybe if you had a better compressor than mine it'd help.
