Bride Seats. What model should I get? 1 piece illegal?

Stupid question: Are 1 piece bucket seats illegal in NSW? If not, what are the restrictions? I can see the seat belt over the lap would have a hard time. Sure they have holes in the side (for 4 or 5 point harness) but its not going to work with the zed as the belt is attached to the door.

I don't need a folding seat as its a 2+0 and the extra height on the sides would be nice but not at all necessary by any means.

So I assume if I were to go the 1 piece route, then I'd need to get a harness + harness bar too. Eng cert then required too I assume?

    Cheers

Not 100% on NSW but pretty sure you can't run harness's on the street. If wanting to run fixed back you might need to move your seat belts to the B pillars as found on aus-spec's & later models.

Last time I looked, no bride seats were ADR approved. Better off with recaros IMO. If I was an orificer of the law, the big BRIDE on the headrest would be a trigger for me to give you a pineapple.

So what's the deal with ADRs? So not all Recaros ADR compliant? I'm seeing a lot of FIA and ABE? Are any other standards recognisedby Aus gov? Is it different for each state?
I know that state motorcycle helmet laws were such a bloody mess they've started to allow euro spec helmets but still not dot, snell, PSC (jis japan) or anything else.
It seems the ADR is a lesser spec than FIA... but FIA isn't allowed? I assume Bride just never bothered to pay for ADR certification even though they'd pass all the tests?
I've looked at Recaros and they're all pretty ugly. For their street line up, only one is a full bucket and the rest are all reclining for your camry sportivo
    thoughts?

I do rate Velo. Can't really comment on actual current ADR's, been ages since I looked.

Regardless, a seat change usually requires a mod plate. I had no issues with the recaros being plated.

My bride seats were ADR approved, with tags on the bottom of the seats.

Are they real? I had heard of kockoffs having the ADR tag but not the genuines... If it's on the fake ones I'd question how good that approval is :p

Are you really that concerned about ADRs etc? I mean not many modifications you make are going to be ADR complies, or comply with light vehicle modification standards...

You could get a set of recaro SRIII and argue that they’re compliant because they were a factory option in the late model Z, but then that car was never approved for Import anyway...

I personally don't care about ADRs. From my experience, they are somewhat sub-standard.
My only concern is with defects. Mr plod isn't smart enough to find the internal modifications I've made. An entire seat is a little bit obvious... especially when they say "please step out of the vehicle'. (however - seat covers could help?)
Even with stock wheels it gets attention. Can't blame my driving either... as I daily a bog stock suzuki swift.

They were too low for me, and without an adjustable steering column, and pin in the ass to get in and out off. I sold them to a guy from the forums here, who has since sold them to another member from here, He wanted to use the money for his 2jz conversion.

Well, i guess my choices are pin in my ass or a rusty old spring in my back :p

I guess I'll have to use a sofa cushion and seat covers for the time being... Or do they have to be ADR approved sofa cushions? :p

    hahaha..
    pain in the ass.
I honestly recommend a seat that hasn't got high leg supports, that made life hell for me. The cool factor wore off real quick.
