Hiya fellas, hopefully you guys can provide some assistance. I went for a 10min drive today in my zed and when I got back and parked in the driveway it started leaking a whole bunch of coolant from just in front of passenger side wheel area. I am unable to see exactly where its leaking from but you can see that the leak is dropping directly on the lower intercooler hose where it connects to the intercooler, so its coming from above there. Anyone got an idea where the leak could be coming from? Could the coolant resevoir itself be leaking? Appreciate any help.

check the condition of your radiator cap. Your Overflow bottle is in the front region of your passenger side guard. Could be that the radiator cap isn't sealing properly, allowing pressure and coolant to fill the overflow bottle.

Wait till the car has cooled down and check the level in your radiator

I'll second checking the radiator cap. At one stage after a particularly woeful service at the Zed Shop I had more problems than you could point a stick at.
Like you after a 10 min run with a passenger when the car was fairly new to me I'd stop and they'd be coolant shooting out from everywhere. It's really disconcerting. In my case it was the radiator cap. You can get around this temporarily by closing the cap and then turning it back slightly. Eventually I had the radiator core rebuilt. The problem here can be a combination of (a) the radiator cap and (b) wear and tear on the radiator where the cap mounts.

looks like it was the radiator cap. The clips on the cap dont seem to grip the plastic enough so it can pop off easily. I managed to get it tight on there and just went for another 10min cruise and no coolant leaking out so thats a good sign. Thanks for your quick responses, i was panicing all afternoon.

replace the cap. You might not be so lucky next time, and will be kicking yourself for not replacing a maximum $20 part. As suggested, inspect the guide on the radiator, as the fault may not lie in the cap.

.. but do not put all your faith in a new Nissan OEM rad cap ... member Baron went through a similar exercise, replaced his rad cap with the real thing ...

    ... result ... DISASTER ...!!!! ...

.. essential to ensure that not only the cap fits ... but that it fully locks ......!!!

There is a "top up" tube(with dip stick)on the passenger side inner guard. The tube that runs down to the Overflow Tank is a loose fit into that tank. Whenever you fill your radiator and overfow tank, there is a strong chance you may overfill this system and after your initial drive it will purge the excess coolant in the manner you describe(this is not uncommon). Subsequent driving AFTER this has occurred will not repeat the leak as the coolant level is now correct.:zlove::zlove:
