    hi all...

i tried searching but the word turbo comes up ALOT on this forum... Go figure

ok, i'm keen to find out what turbos are a direct bolt on replacement for the standard manifolds in our beloved zeds.

by this i mean turbos from other cars like the s14/s15 t28, Skyline turbos ect.

Can the standard manifolds be modified to allow a different flange from these turbos if they are not direct bolt on or is it just as cheap to buy new manifolds.

and... for curiositys sake, What external gate/Screamer options are there for the VG30DETT, i know not many people like them here but i do and i would love to hear a z32 with a nice big external gate and a screamer!

    thanks guys

dude.. seriously..... there are no direct bolt on turbos from any other cars that will fit without clocking, new actuator brackets and compressor inlet tapping or adaptors.

if u want turbos , you have so many options these days both locally and from the USA and Japan..

whats the most you can do with regards to high flowing?

are the oem turbo housings capable of reaching 2860 or 2871rs specs?
also, if the turbo seals are leaking does it generally mean the turbos are rooted or is there still a good chance of the turbos lasting a decent amount of time.

Hypergear does a hiflowed GT2860RS spec of the stockies, I fitted a set to Benny_C's only on Saturday. They come on nice and strong but being smaller housings they will not have the top end punch that the real McCoy has.

When seals go they just get worse and worse. The turbo itself still does the job but the amount of oil that will burn up and turn into a nice blue plume from the back of your car will almost guarantee a defect notice.

so its just a matter of pulling he turbos off and replacing the seals, gaskets and what not and then the turbos should be fine ?

how do you find those turbos?
are they very laggy or is it still nice and responsive?

a little laggy ..spools at 4000rpm .. but I removed the VTC because they were noisy and leaking.had vtc before I had it fully tuned and was more responsive

with vtc and a built engine these should spool at 3000rpm

    these kick in hard :D

these will be for sale with uas ported manis and ces racing dumps jan/feb only 4000km old

my GT2860RS/GT28RS cores with ported manis have approx ~800rpm more lag than stock, not a major issue, but like Black Beast said, when they hit, they hit hard! And keep boosting hard right till the rev limiter.

This is just on 15psi mike  I'll be having a look at the actuators this weekend to adjust the tension so they can hold 20psi :D

They are stock turbos Adam with larger internals so to answer your question, the exhaust housing are still the same as what stock is .48

    .48 is the compressor housing

exhaust housing is either .54 auto or .63 manual
