taking gear box out ??

    just wondering if any body would know if there's a easy way to get to the top bolts on the gear box? i cant get a spanner on the right hand side bolt

    3/8ths inch socket set with 3 or 4 uni joints and different size extensions mate!!

    undo the

    engine mounts, tilt the engine back gently into the fire wall, much easier then.

    Yep

    Undo engine mounts, jack front of motor to tilt it back, not to far or you can do damage to the heater hoses.
    use a couple of long extension bars,a quality ratchet, 14 mm socket with some tape around the uni joint (socket) to stop it wobbling around, abit of elbow grease and your in business.
    place the bolts in order as they are different lengths, so you can get it back correctly.

    Long Extension Bars

    I bought a long extension bar from supercheap for about $10. The bar was about 2 foot long, used that and a knuckle joint

    Tilt it back mate the only way I found it possible. I had broken engine mounts so I just dumped the box and it tilted right back I even managed to tourque up all the bell housing bolts to spec.

    I just used some wobble extension bars, the things with the rounded ends. it works ok.

    28" (flexi) extension bar with a 14 mm socket.. undid them from mid way down the car...Came off 1st go both times :):):):):)

    I tilted my engine back and got to it with a 14mm ring spanner. Both sides....I didn't use any sockets lol. I removed the dump pipes off my turbo's to do it.
