    correct

glad you pointed it out. i couldn't be bothered
and i said "drag slicks" not "semi slicks"

but yeah my point was exactly that. For me, its about finding how fast my EVERY DAY car really is. Not a stripped down boosted up variation of it ;)

    Thats fine

For a while when your finding out how fast your everyday car is,
But after a while you get bored with that and want to go faster, you start looking at ways of achieving that.
It's all it's about power to weight ratio and if you want to go faster you either have to get more power or lighten up the load
Once you have spent the dollars and done the power trip and still want more speed, thats when you start to lighten the load by tossing out all the unecessary stuff.
How far you go is up to you, it's all about personal goals and i don't see how that makes you any less credible by pursuing them.:bash:

it doesn't make them less credible at all. thats not what im saying at all

im saying the guy that THINKS his "street car" runs 11's but to run an 11, he had to make HEAPS fo changes, which were then changed BACK for street use, no longer drives an 11 second car (as one would probably still boast)

    thats all.

I totally agree. it is highly likley you would "cross a line" at some point, just to chase the numbers.

I already lookforward to the day my kids complain there is not enough room in the back, so i can rip out the rear seat and re-register it as a 2 seater ;)

to be honest though, once you get into that, I'd prob jump ship to another platform and buy a track only car so i could strip it RIGHT down.

if you're gonna cross the line... might as well do it right ;)

I think you may need better tyres... I was launching at 5500-6000 rpm with minimal wheel spin with 265 Bridgestone Potenza G3's.

    Benny_C About as subtle as...

    Well maybe Ron, but...

being one of the top 5 fastest Zeds in all of Australia, i'm sure it's capable of pulling an 11 second run. :D:D:p:p

it says good tyres, not drag slicks. road legal everyday semi-slicks == good tyres!

This is something I want to give a go, will be a few months till I have a wed night free though. Just out of curiosity, what could I expect with 245rwkw and 500nm of tourque? Like what times have others acheived with similar numbers?

Yes I know it comes down to the driver and skill in launching, others figures arent applicable to me, but I'd like to know where the bar is, what I should be shooting for. After early Nov I will have some free wed nights so I will be able to give it a go.
