hey guys. jsut wondering what you all ahve done with your center consoles?! i drive an N/A zed.. so theres no point putting oil temp water guages in the dash i dont think.. so help would be muchly appreciated. as well as photos guys. should i buy a double din and cut my console? should i get a single din with a fold out screen and fill the second pocket with a holder of some sort or what? any help would be muchly appreciated. kindly. rod.
carbon fibre or graphite or whatever it is looks really good....silver(chromelooking)would be a treat also!have fun with it.

that is so f'in ugly, here is what im in the process of doing, single din 7" fliptop on the top bracket, then underneath im going to build a shelf kind of l shaped, then put my new ipod into it.

dont build it urself.. alpine has just released a ipod draw.. it is single din and it looks very nice.. u put ur ipod in there and it will integrate to ur headunit.. it is universal to any headunit brand which is a up side and it looks sweet as which is another up side.... downside.. i dont have an ipod EDIT i went on the alpine website and found it... http://www.alpine.com.au/products/product.asp?modelID=385 EDIT (II) u dont need an ipod u can use a 2.5" hdd.. niiice
sorry mate i meant like, if you were going to put something in dont put that in, im sure its fine ay, pictures are just that pictures, trust me iv seen a ton of ugly chicks with hot photos, if your in townsville i can help you put in something cool, im not even really sure what im doing, probably like a half rectange piece of aluminium, carpet that, then bolt on an ipod cover so i can slip that in and out. looks a bit weird with all the wires there edit- on a second long look i think it would look quiet good if you modified the standing centre console so it fits in better, it pokes out a bit much and doesnt quiet match the grey console, black would be great
To me that looks a little tacky, if i was to do simiar, i would have shaped a piece of acrylic to the inside of the bezel thingy, so it looks somewhat stockish But thats me...
Buy a second hand one you can chop up. You can pretty much make it into anything you want. Enough size for a 7" touchscreen and normally heaps of room behind it as well. A screen install is fairly easy because of the headrest insert that you can use, but a little time and patience and you could alter it for just about anything. edit: Satin black with a clear top coat blends into the rest of the oem black plastic
Wasnt saying yours, i was talking about the pic, and i wasnt flaming, was just adding my constructive critisism.... the guy even said that it stuck out too far so that would even combat part of that.. Jeez why are there so many keyboard warriors that are so quick to flame....:bash::bash::bash:
I got a piece of perspex cut to size with holes for gauges and a head unit. Havent used it yet but looked pretty good sitting in there. PM Vincent as he did something similar on his beast - looks awesome!
