No you cant has to be the same . If you want a different one you will have to pay the difference and I bet you will be asked to pay quite a lot.
There way of getting there money back.
See if you can arrange it with the repairer not the insurance guys ,this would be your best bet

erm... dude..... you say in another thread that YOU reversed into a car parked behind you........

    Diferent incident?
Or are you now trying to get something out of this guy even though, legally, the incedent was your fault??

    just asking

I think you might be able to somehow. A couple of years ago, my gf's brother crashed his supra (not his fault), at the time it had a stock front bar, when they repaired it,he managed to get them to put a Veilside front bar on it! I don't know how he did it though...

    Cheers,

you get the quote to fix it how it was... if the replacement bumper is $200 but you want a AM one for $400 you can usually talk to the paint show and pay the extra $200 for them to put a different one on.

well look at jaybo... some one took a tiny corner out of him..

    new front bar,
    new fender
    new LH head light
and a little reweld to the head light support..

but because he had bmw skirts moulded into the fender they cbf looking or trying to fix it so they wrote the car off as repairable...

bastard got a decent pay out and the car back... now its fixed for 1/10th of the pay out

i hate you jay aye.. im charging you labour from now on

I had a quote to replace a damaged front bar and the

cost to supply just the bar was $800. The estimator must have got a price from Nissan. They were quite happy to use a 'cheaper' aftermarket bar. In the end I replaced it myself and didn't use insurance for $500 all up.
