    sorry to bump up an old tread but i thought it was an interesting if not funny read.

    i recently raced my mates VS Series 2 SS 5ltr with cams, exhaust, cold air and heavy duty clutch (it was manual) and another mates auto stock VX SS 5.7ltr and i destroyed them both. and i mean left them for dead. not just beat them, but LEAVE THEM BY BUS LENGTHS...

    My car is a 1995 Manual 300ZX TWIN TURBO 2seater with minor mods CatBAck with X pipe, BOVs and Drive pulley.

    1st = 300ZX

    after a while

    2nd = VS SS

    soon after

    3rd = VX SS

    Ive also driven both SS cars and iam (bragging) a good driver and they are quick but when compared to the Z, its a differnt type of power all together. like comparing the type R with a ZX. The type R is quick, quick for what it is.. Its a differnt type of power.

    CHEERSSSS.

    anyone wana flame BRING IT ONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN :cool: :zlove:

    that is a slow car though.....not surprised you beat it....

    if it had been a vu holden ls1 it would have been pushing around 260-280rwkw with those mods.....might have been a different story then....

    hahha speaking of excels, i once stopped at lights next to an excel (it was yellow).. i was in my old Z32 1990 2seater manual NA.

    the guy rolled down his window and said he reckons he can beat me.

    I STARTED LAUGHING...

    My car was pretty quick, a well maintained engine with a Complete exhaust system and POD setup. Fresh clutch. New 18s with 8.5inch wide fresh treads.

    I was convinced that i would be wasting my time and my (back then) $1 ltr 98 octane juice.

    anyways light goes green and i thought ill give him a bit of a head start and waited like 3 seconds. NExt thing i knew the excel starts to flutter like a VL and bang, it was buzzing off :eek: .

    I had a hard time keeping up.

    goes to show, dont underestimate the little buzzbox (with $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ in wasted money invested).

    BAHAHAHAHAAHAH

    go the Excel!!!!!

    There's a turbo Excel i Perth too.

    And i wouldn't say $$$$ on waisted investment.

    I have thought about doing it to the wifes for a laugh.

    How much would it cost?

    Not much...

    1) Already have an S15 intercooler = $100 (can pick em up cheeper too... for sale for $50 btw if anyone wants it)

    2) T25 Turbo (hand around a Silvia forum and you'll pick one up cheep as they upgrade to T28 or bigger) $300 ish

    3) Pipework. WOuldn't take much but I have a mate who does AWSOME work

    So for probably under $500, most of the work would be done :)

    Wait a sec.............. :D

    Back to races... my fave is still the morning trip to work. Riced up Lancer starts reving off at the lights ready to launch.

    I deceide "ok" and increase revs slightly

    Lights change and before we hit the otherside of the intersection im 3 car lenghts in front of him laughing my head off

    Why am i laughing so hard?

    Coz I was in my wifes stock standered 4 door excel.

    I had some fun with a commodore r8 of some sort (or a normal commodore with LED taillights) and, I'm 99% sure I could hear a supercharger as we moved along. Was pretty much neck and neck from 70ish to 140ish (wasn't really watching gauges.)

    Anyone know this car? Was black with a big "formula 1" sticker and other smaller ones in white on it's sides. Must be kinda well known if it does have a charger and all those stickers.

    i have a blind spot for commies ;)

    I just dont notice them :rolleyes:

    Tell you what I have noticed. HEAPS of them now seem to have Holden Badged lambo style wheels.

    Think its a new option.

    Pisses me off coz i look at them and think "HELL YEAH THOSE KIND OF RIMS WOULD BE WIKKID" and then realise that are "holden" rims

    So even if they did fit... I wouldn't buy them

    Imagine that... holden rims on a Zed... man that would be soooo wrong.

    My old VS Clubby destroyed all Z32 N/A's i came up against i even bet a few Skylines and WRX's (from rolling) so thats pretty good for a 5ltr VS. It had 162rwkw with exhaust and extractors, i added a CAI and it made 172rwkw sold it after that. But obviously it would still would've had gotten blown away by a TT Z. What happened at the drags? did you win or loose?

    Lets call it a private road. I was running out of road so I had to slow down. But the supercharger sounded wicked ay. And it smelt of burnt clutch after.

    I found a place over east called F1 performance that supercharges R8's and similar. might have been one of theirs...
