    air-con

    do you have a manual Aircon control [ aus spec and post 93? jap spec] or do you have the auto climate control with the digital tep display.

    if you have an auto, the motors on some of the dirctional doors inside the ducy system behind/inside the dask may be jammed/broken

    Sticky doors

    I had the same problem + tested all the motors-they were ok. Demister door often sticky, stays shut and directs air to windscreen. Oiled and cleaned the rods and rollers-on drivers side and -accessable once you remove the duct under dash. Push on rod that closes the door to windscreen.I found that it could also be remedied by toggling between demister button and off and Auto button and off. If all else fails just pin the door closed untill the depths of winter.

    Buggered Mode Door Motor

    Go to the wreckers and buy a mode door motor. I just replaced mine and now it works fine, although you almost certanly will have to remove your dash (i did) it is located to the right of the main vent on the side of the heater box.

    There are 3 motor units in the climate control system that look the same (1 for fresh/recirc air, one for hot/cold and the mode one to change between feet/cabin/demist) They are the same ecxept for the PCB inside them that is different. I guess if it is a motor and not the PCB that was stuffed you could swap out motors from another function (id say fresh/recirc air) Here is a photo of the mode door motor.

    Here is an image of what is inside it.

    Here is a link to the manual which shows where it sits;

    Hope this helps.

    good old mode motor

    if you have the auto, climate control type air cond, it will probably be your mode actuator,which directs the out put air flow.
    check the aircond section in the manaul.
