Anyone know any insurance agencies that would insure a zed thats an N/A 2+2 and basically stock standard except for a sports exhaust for a good price?

Itll be insured under my dads name and hes got a AAA rating never been in an accident. Anyway we've been thinking about sticking with the big insurance agencies, is this always the best bet? they wanna charge us 80 bux a month the C's.

    anyway peace and love.

Your complaining that you might have to pay under $1000 a year  I wish that was all I had to pay. I'm $1650 a year with a $1300 excess, and that was the best I could get  21year old with 1 at fault claim, minor mods listed (suspension, exhaust, wheels)

haha, $80 a month, I wish mine was that low, I've had NO at fault claims and I'm paying double that. Mind you I have listed for a much higher agreed value than a 'stock' car.

Just so you know, insurance company's see any exhaust modification as a performance mod, so they will list the car as having been modied (performance wise). So $80 per month seems pretty good! Especially with the spate of accidents involving 300zx's over the past 12 months, im not surprised if they jack up the price for zeds to be insured..

Im insured with Just cars 3rd party fire and theft, paying $470 a year. I will eventually go to full comp but im a very safe and caution driver on the roads and if im going to be in an accident it wont be my fault so i dont need to really worry about needing to poay for insurance bills at that time. But with our cars $1000 a year full comp is the baseline cost for a stock Zed. I think the reason is because most are imports and to get parts requires shipping from Japan for new and finding second from importers or wreckers. So the insurance companies add this into the insurance u pay.

Is it Japanese or Aus spec? That will make a huge difference.

LOL Yeah right! Unless they dont have insurance (very common) or your car gets backed into in a carpark and you're not there to report it. Even if you take someone to court and win due to it being their fault, it still can be very hard to get money out of people who aren't insured which is alot of people.

    Justcars/Shannons/AAMI (same company)

    Try Famous Insurance or Vigil.

Yeah, the important factor is whether its J-Spec or Aus-Spec... alot of the major insurance companies WON'T insure an imported vehicle... You say its imported and they will basically hang up on you...

I'm insured with Just Car and i pay $1720 for a rating 4 driver... still on my P's, no claims made, with a short mods list (suspension, spoiler, wheels)

Just go around all of the companies websites and get a rough quote for each and then go from there, try banks as well some offer insurance.

The biggest thing for most insurers seems to be if it is an import.
An AUS-Spec or J-Spec NA 2+2 whilst "basically" the same, will usually incur an impost by any insurer :(

Justcar was the cheapest at $1080 i believe i paid for 12 months. Based on a 13k writeoff.

agreed, im with ING (allianz underwritten). Im 18, 1 at fault claim, listed joint under me and my parents so i get their rating 1 and i pay $720 per year with a $400 excess +$500 for inexperienced drivers (ie. me). no mods listed but they didnt hassle me when i made a claim at all (only wheels, exhaust and pod filter).

lol Dont sweat it, insurance is a sticky business... I have 3rd party with Suncorp for one of my Z's, they will cover damages up to $5,000 even if the other person is uninsured. I'd have to double check my policy for specifics, but it was the best 3rd party policy that I had heard of. Some are dodgy and wont fix shit...
